@wareagleextra: RT @LarryWilliamsTI: Urban Meyer has come after Chad Morris, and it sounds like big money. Will be very interesting to see how Clemson reacts.

Read OSU is prepared to offer Morris $1.5M. With Boyd being a junior next year and Watkins a soph, and Ellington/Dwayne Allen seniors (if they come back), Morris could stay at Clemson one more year, have an O that puts up huge numbers again, and parlay that into a BCS conference job....but then again turning down basically a 1M raise would be pretty hard to do.

Why would Urban want to pay an OC 1.5m$? Seems like they could use that money better by filling out other areas. It's going to be Urban's offense at the end of the day anyway.

This. Urban is going to be running the O so getting a big name OC is pointless and those two would probably clash.

Is Morris like super duper awesome at recruiting?

Auburn will offer him 1.2 mill if Gus leaves, you would think he'd rather work as his own offense instead of runny Myers

Urban plans to cut back the stress so he needs a great OC so he can be with the family once a month

did anyone else see CUM's offense in 09 and 2010?? i cant help but feel like dan mullen was the director of those offenses in 07/08. mullen goes back with urban back to bowling green.....

CUM throwing huge money at an OC proves to me he needs someone taking care of the offense

Took the words right out of my mouth...

Gus needs to make a decision so we can move on. Either stay, or GTFO and let us grab the next best guy.

Why would Morris go from Clemson to auburn? Seems like a lateral move to me, unless auburn cold really pay much more than clemon could.

We can pay much more, and we're in the SEC. Plus, well, they're still Clemson...that'll never change.

Same exact offense as Gus Malzahn, different wording... It also appears that he likes to throw a little more than Malzahn does. Either way, Morris coached under Malzahn when they were both still High School coaches. Rhett Lashlee, another coach that was under Malzahn, coaches at Samford.

Morris didn't coach under Malzahn. Morris coached in texas, Malzahn in Arkansas. At some point, Morris took his hs staff to malzahn's school and learned his offense and implemented much of the same.

I take it back, you're right about that. Malzahn tought him his offense because Morris' wasn't very successful. They run basically the same thing now, though. Auburn is expected to throw the bank at him when Malzahn leaves, he just needs to hurry up and make up his mind.
