Anyone who wants E to completely leave the program is not a true fan. E loves LSU and is a football guy. I would like to have him involved in some capacity for as long as he is willing. Fact of the matter is that he is a better fit for other roles
95% would love him to be a senior advisor.

That is my understanding. E will likely stay on in some admin capacity.
That sounds good. I may not like Ensminger as a playcaller, but how can you not love the man?

Absolutely. The man can definitely coach and spot talent. He’s the one who recommended that we hire Brady and the one who went out and got Callahan to move from being an OC to and analyst.

He's a POS because wants what he negotiated? Were there performance clauses that he failed to meet? He's a POS because LSU gave him a ridiculous contact? Get a grip, dude. I mean, hopefully they can work something out, but calling someone a POS for expecting his employer to uphold the contract they signed is absurd.
If I had just fielded the worst defense in college football I would absolutely agree to a reduced buy out. I understand contracts but the man produced absolutely dick this year. Acknowledge your failure and agree to something reasonable.

Sure you would.
If it was me, I wouldn't accept a reduced buyout, but not because of the money. I wouldn't accept it because I wouldn't want to leave. I'd want the chance to redeem myself and prove this year was an anomaly. So maybe THAT'S where he coming from.
Regardless of his motivation, you're out of line for calling him a POS for not wanting a reduced buyout.

Did we lose 80 million, or did we generate 80 million less in revenue? Big difference between the two and I'm pretty sure it's the latter.
A combination of both, and we’ve yet to feel the effects of the latter. If the budget is built up around 80mm, and we don’t get that revenue one year, then is lost over the course of the following fiscal year.
Essentially, to not lose it, we’d have have to have A really solid year next year.

Scott really f"ed this one up. This contract is not O's fault at all.
Never understood the love for Woodward. He just throws other people money around seemingly without negotiating.

And in my opinion to get the most fiscal success next year you need to have two slam dunk coordinator hires.

TBL - any updates on the replacements for all the coaches let go yesterday? Any early front runners?

If you understand contracts, then you know the golden rule: never sign anything unless you’re getting something in return.
For Les Miles, it was a lump sum payout that allowed him to collect his full salary from Kansas without an offset. LSU got off the hook for his buyout and he got to collect more salary in the long run.
Pelini has all of the leverage here, and LSU is going to have to find a win-win if they want to get out from under his buyout. Unfortunately for LSU, that’s going to be very difficult.
