Is it true UT is facing 50 level 1 infractions?

Not sure, but I don’t think so. I thought I remember saying something like 50 infractions, but not all of them are major.

I could be wrong, though.

Edit: David Ricky beat me with a better answer.

not trying to irritate anybody but how do you UT fans feel about your own administration trying to get the school busted?

If it was truly 12 level 1 infractions, the NCAA was bound to find out eventually. Cleaning the entire house will hopefully lessen the sanctions. I think none of this will be a big deal in a few years. Pruitt and Tennessee will settle outside of court and it will be swept under the rug. Not sure about what sanctions were facing though

I don't think they were "trying to get busted" so much as realizing it was going to get bad and decided getting it all out in the open was a better option than trying to hide something that was already getting out.

Pretty much this. If Proot was as sloppy as reported, it would only be a matter of time until he’s caught anyways. It’s much better to get out in front of this and take the opportunity to clean house in the AD as well imo

It wasn't the admin outing the school and fricking over Proot as much as just ripping the bandaid off. If Fulmer stayed and kept Germy on for 2021, the violations would've only gotten worse. The McD's bags would've become Walmart shopping carts.

Sonny Dykes is the name you leak so when you hire PJ Fleck or Tony Elliott, people’s first reaction is well at least it isn’t Sonny Dykes.

Apparently VolTwitter scared him away. There is also some question as to how official the reported contact was. VQ reporting Dykes wanted $5mill/yr. I'm thinking/hoping TN told him to kick rocks when they heard that, and Dykes' people are spinning it that he turned it down.

Talk on other boards that Elliot is going to pass as well. I'm not sure where that news is coming from b/c White hasn't let any kind of info slip out. Most of these guys are just throwing shite at the wall and hoping they are right when the coach is announced.

Chadwell has been contacted per Houston Kress

All kidding aside. Cleaning house and admitting to infractions is probably a smart idea in theory. Will the ncaa go lenient or try and make an example? That’s the gamble you take.

Also agree that this will not be a big deal in a few years but you’re going to have to slog through the bullshite which is why I don’t think you’ll be able to get a top tier coach right away. Pruitt and UTk will settle. It’s in y’all’s best interest.

TIFWIW, so probably nothing but

James Franklin rumors are flying around on the message boards right now. No clue why he would want to come here maybe he feels he’s reached his ceiling at penn st.

LOL, Big T from Barstool is outside the airport right now. Apparently there was a plane from State College, PA headed to Teterboro, NJ; from Knoxville to Teterboro, and Atlanta to Teterboro all landing within 45 min of each other. So he left the office and is outside watching now. The live stream has been off the charts hilarious. The plane landed and literally went to the other side of the airport from where he is.

If true that must mean all of the other top candidates passed on the job. And that makes sense considering few would take a job like that right now given the present circumstances.

No doubt. On top of 8 losing seasons in the last 13 years, the timing is terrible, and an investigation which is rumored to have turned up as many as 12 level 1 infractions. Just a complete disaster all the way around.

That's the big thing. What top coach is going to want to walk into that situation with so many unknowns. In a field where you may only get one shot at a top job, why take this big of a chance.
