Despite starting a true freshman QB, UCF averaged 42 points and 540 yards a game this year under Lebby, good for #6 overall in scoring offense.

Would be a good OC hire. Heupel’s offense isn’t similar to Briles’.

Was he calling plays at UCF or was Heupel? Does that even matter? Is Kiffin calling plays at Ole Miss?

From my understanding Lebby called standard and Heupel called situational. Probably what Lane will do as well unless he feels the need to call full time.

Am I the only one who is just a little meh?

I had my hopes up for Kendal Briles.

When Lane is your head coach it doesn’t matter who your OC is....

If you hate scoring points then yes

He was also Baylor's offensive recruiting coordinator under Briles if you can remember all of the talent Baylor had on offense in that era. He can coach and he can recruit at big level.

Lebby wasn't their OC for the Fiesta bowl...

Nope and wasn’t good enough to get them in a NY6 again this year.

Lane is good at putting together a staff.

As an OC, if you have the #6 offense in the country I'd say you held up your end of the bargain.

Has he hired a recruiting coordinator?

How many spots left on offense?

So far he has an OC, S&C coach, and an additional assistant (position not yet named).

Rumored that he is keeping MM at DC, which as an ole miss fan I'm happy with. He improved our defense quite a bit in his first season.

Other than that the staff is wide open. Seems to be taking his time filling the staff, probably won't have a ton of news until after early signing day when he can sit down and decide how to fill the staff

He has only officially hired three assistants- Lebby, Kevin Smith (presumably at RB coach but it has not been announced), and Wilson Love for strength & conditioning coach.

And apparently we just hired a special teams coach:

Bruce Feldman

SOURCE: #Houston Special Teams Coordinator and Nickels coach Blake Gideon will be the new Special Teams Coord and Defensive Asst at #OleMiss. Big addition for Lane Kiffin's staff. Gideon has good recruiting connections in TX and did a terrific job with special teams.
