You tell me. I know it's permanently etched in your mind.
It was certainly embarrassing for LSU.

This one baffles me. What exactly is the story on Schiano? Alcohol or drug issues? Some sort of insubordinate incident that makes AD's shy away? I mean the guy basically created the Rutgers program from scratch that went from Big East afterthought to the Big Ten, and did well enough that the NFL came calling. Yet, he can't even get a marginal HC job like South Carolina, Mizzou, Maryland, or Virginia? Every college to NFL coach who was fired in the NFL that I can think of has had their pick of offers when they returned to college (Saban, Spurrier, Butch Davis, Petrino). What is so different about Schiano?

So what's the deal with Luke fickell?
Edit to add that I did not see this was asked earlier if anybody wants elaborate further that be great though
it's just strange how he is not been mentioned for any other coordinator position nor head-coaching position after talk that he may get the job when they hired urban

He would not have got the job I don't think.
I think he's an OSU lifer, or at least until his kids are grown.

Had no business going to the NFL. Otherwise solid. CUM is no fool. Note Schiano's new title.

We would not have won a championship without Chris Ash last year. He did a fantastic job while in Columbus. I love how jaded the little Piggies are.
No idea why any piggies would be jaded. The defense improved dramatically in every way the year after he was gone

Wow.
From a nationally respected college head coach to an 'intriguing NFL coach,' to a failure at the NFL and, now, a defensive coordinator.
I was on campus when Schiano was the HC. I don't wish the man ill at all. I'm surprised to see him fall off so far and so fast.

It seems like some programs know how to get their man right away. Sounds like a good hire.

I think in two years he will have leveraged himself perfectly.
If the defense continues on the same level and he recruits like he should, he'll be able to take almost any head job he wants.

What you said. Become the DC or OC for someone like Saban or Meyer and you're set for most open jobs in tNCAA.

except we had a top 10 defense the next year with a new DC
That doesn't fit their narrative and the fact Ash was only a co-DC at Ohio doesn't fit their narrative so they just claim Arky fans are bitter

Well he was calling the alignment for a national title team. I'm not sure what other narrative there would be.

Your offense went from averaging <21 PTs per game to averaging about 32. That's a huge improvement, and it was the same OC. Hmmmm
Surely you Arkansas fans are smart enough to know that teams regress toward the mean, especially when they establish continuity and get more talented. Then again, you seem to think Bret is far better of a coach than the rest of the world thinks so maybe you're not good evaluators.

Ash was a bad fit for us; doesn't make him a bad coach, just not what we wanted or what he wanted(a near-total rebuild.) Robb Smith improved the D greatly last yr, but then we fell apart again this yr. So to be honest, I think it is nearly impossible to judge either Ash or Smith from their respective tenures at Arkansas.
Schiano is an outstanding hire IMO

Ash scheme just was just was too complex for our young team to digest.
With that said we did go from the worst d in the sec to having 4 defensive players drafted the year after year leaves. Under ash Mitchell andb sought went from 2nd stringers to nfk draftees !I'm just sayin
I think ashbis a good x and o guy but not the best teacher of fundamentals
