We can outbid UT. We have freed up buyout money and our coach is cheaper. We proved that with Aranda when we outbid Texas a&m.

That sounded like all the insiders on this board. I was told this info from somebody in the know. Things change. It might not happen, but might. Things are fluid.

No message board is immune from the "pretendsider". Read the tea leaves, make a statement that isn't too obvious, but isn't too bold either (needs to be a slight stretch, but believable - especially if the audience WANTS to believe it), and be sure to give yourself a little wiggle room.

If your bold statement doesn't happen, the wiggle room is your saving grace. If the bold statement pops, then strangers think you have some real connections and you get e-cred. Sad how many people care about such things.

I'm convinced at least 75% of the "I'm hearing" crap that's posted is really "I'm guessing" or "I'm hoping".

I’m certainly not hoping Corey Raymond leaves! But hey, let’s stop sharing information on here and just keep telling ourselves exactly what we want to hear! I thought that was kinda exclusive to the recruiting board, but I guess I was wrong!

Are you a source or do you have a source that is credible that is close to the football team? Why should anyone believe you when you make a comment like "not looking to good to retain Raymond"?

Corey is right in the middle of building a new home for his family and his wife and children are more than happy with him at LSU. He would have to be offered the DC position for him to leave which wont happen.

OSU insiders are saying they may offer/offered Raymond something in the 800k-950k range, which I think is around double what he makes now.

One of the advantages of Day making $4 million vs Urban making $7 or $8 is OSU has TONS to spend on assistants.

If you have $11 million total to spend on coaches, the HC's % is a huge deal in bringing in top flight assistants

My dude, we are paying our HC like he’s a G5 HC right now. We got money to burn to keep this house of cards upright

We’re also paying our DC like he’s a G5 HC so it’s kind of a wash. Not saying that won’t allow us to hire/retain anyone in particular, but our spending is probably near or above where it was a few years ago.

But his point is that they have some sort of advantage bc they don’t pay their HC that much when we have the same situation and we’re in a more desperate situation when it comes to keeping assistants than they are.

I wasn't saying it as a knock to LSU, I was saying it's a new thing as an OSU fan to be able to bring in assistants for a ton of cash

This is not a knock on LSU. Ohio State has as much to spend as any program in college footballl. If they don’t get Raymond it will not be a money thing. It will be because he’s been an LSU guy all his life and if it plays out that way I respect him for it.

We can so I don't see what's funny. It's not about pure money, it's about value. The amount is only gonna go so high and we can match whatever number that is. Might not have to match since we have home field advantage. People get way too caught up in how much money a school has and can offer. That's not what it's about. It's about how much they offer based on the value of the coach.

I'm not sure Raymond is worth 900 grand a year. He's not a coordinator and that's a lot of cheese for a CBs coach. He's not even the S coach anymore.

Let's see, LSU has the #1 CB for 19 and 20 committed. Yeah, Raymond should go to OSU for less talent

There’s no winning with you guys! When I name my source on things like injuries all of a sudden I’m violating HIPPA laws. I told my source on this shite. I don want the guy to leave just as much as you don’t, but you get on here for “sources” essentially, otherwise you’d just wait until a press release comes out on the subject. I’m just repeating what source told me. I’ve better shite to do with my time than troll people online, but hate away!

More reason for OSU to go after Raymond. Bring those #1 CBs with him up to CBus!!
