"If we keep O, he just needs a good offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator to be successful."

If your HC is only as good as his coordinators, that means he is not a good coach! Orgeron inherited a very talented team, still lost 2, but how will he do with less talent next year and maybe losing Aranda? Outside of this university, Orgeron is not a high head coach or defensive coordinator prospect.

but but but he can recruit. Honestly, what national recruit has he brought into the program that was all his doing. I will give him Arden Key and that's it. I don't wanna here about any local recruits because those guys were coming here regardless if O was on staff or not

He is Les Miles with a slightly better offensive approach.

Aren't coaches supposed to let their coordinators coordinate?

Sorry. I love o. But we've had a coach who needed good coordinators for the last 4 years. Let's just get a good coach.

Well, I mean jimbo is only as good as is defensive coordinator. That's what this board has said about his losing games the past 2 years to vastly inferior teams. That fsu wouldn't pay for top defensive coordinators.

Not defending O, but have you ever worked for a manager that is an all around good leader, strong technical skills etc. but not the guru? What do they do? Bring the gurus to take care of specifics. They lead. The gurus and associate staff like working for them. That produces results.

Could O fall into this category and get shite done with a revamped staff and additional gurus? Time will tell.

I see where you are going but it's very flawed.

It's the Les Miles problem. All we wanted was a modern offense. "Hey Les, we will pay you 5MM per year to recruit but on Saturday don't do shite.... what cha say?"

He said NO.

Yes they are but the HC should at least be a expert on one side of the ball. Depending on two elite coordinators at all times is unrealistic.

Any leader is only as good as the people he surrounds himself with. In the case of coaching, it's asst. coaches AND players. I have confidence that if Coach O gets the job, this will continue to be his approach.

Not trying to say hes as good a coach as Saban, but Alabama has become really dominant when he finally took a step back and let his top notch coordinators do their jobs. Ofcourse he has his say so in stuff what head coach doesnt, but He learned to trust in his guys and not do everything himself. To me Nick Sabans greatest trait as a coach is being a motivator. He gets his players to buy into what he is doing and believe in him. Coach O has that same kind of motivational trait about him. He has also came out and admitted his flaws of the past were trying to have too much of his input on every part of the team as a HC. Im not saying he is the best canidate, but atleast he says he will let his coaches do their jobs and have no chains on them. We as a whole (players and fans) must buy into what he will try to do for this to work. Time will tell if he ends up our coach

But he loves LSU!

Yet we better give him a 2 million raise to coach it or he will feel insulted. This is a fricking shite show of epic proportions.

The other SEC coaches are loving the thought of a long term version of LSU being coached by Orgeron along with their fans. 1990s here we come!
