Fwiw, I heard (no link) from a friend last year "don't be shocked if Saban winds up with the Falcons". That was before all the Texas stuff. This was the same person who told me Saban would be the Alabama coach 2 months before it happened. I haven't heard anything since.

This same stuff has been said every December for 8 years. Last year it was cleveland and texas. It's like it's all rinsed and repeated with the names changed. Hell, the New York Post article looks like they just changed the name from Giants to Jets, from the article last week. It's seriously just comical at this point.

It took long enough for this to be posted here. This board is slacking.

Because if it isn't about Chavis it doesn't matter apparently

He tried the NFL and was mediocre at best

So was Pete Carroll. Then he won a Super Bowl

Unlike LSU, we don't have to worry about our best coach leaving.

And Chavis was the only reason you didn't lose 6 or more games both years

Saban can't use fear to motivate NFL players like he can in college.

Saban isn't leaving. He knows he wouldn't get all the favors that sec revs give him for being the coach at Alabama.

Didn't the Bears try and get Saban when he was at LSU? Seems like I remember him taking a trip up that way and had us on the usual pins and needles like he loved to do and ultimately said no. Does anyone else from the Tiger Nation remember this?

Saban really is overrated as an X and O coach. He wins in college mainly because he is a great recruiter and he out-talents everyone else. In fact, based on recruiting rankings, he has actually under-achieved at Alabama. In the NFL, where the talent is much more even and winning is mostly an X and O thing, he is mediocre.

I keep hearing these kids say this, but this is truly a dumb comment. Our offense was great last year out side of the Ole Miss game. The D is what wasn't up to our standards.

This year, the D played great in spots, but Miss State and Auburn both abused our D. Wisconsin would have likely beaten us had Gordon not gotten hurt. The offense played well enough to beat Bama, but we were let down again by a last minute drive.

We have really good defensive players and that is what is wins/loses us games. Love Chief for his time here, but we should be fine. We can pay a pretty good amount to a top tier DC.

What we need is some progression from either one of our 2 QBs and we'll be fine.
