Interesting that we haven't heard him turn it down publicly...we know his name has been in that conversation.

no it hasn't. I'm all for pissing Bama fans off, but this is just stupid.

Publicly, no. Privately, I'm betting yes...but nothing substantial.

I posted this in another thread, but it may have been buried. Has Stoops publicly denied interest in the ND job and explictly said he will not be the coach at ND? read something that he is going to be at OU, but nothing shooting down the ND smoke/fire. The reason I ask is because I remember he very publicly turned down Florida, so he knows how to clear the air.

Seems like he's still in non-denial, denial mode.

You seem to know a hell of a lot of information Prominentwon. I can guarantee you they'll ask him. And don't be surprised to see a 6-10 million dollar offer, to a big name coach.

after the Miles to michigan fiasco no coach in the midst of a BCS NC run will even remotely think about allowing his name to be associated with another job

You don't think ND is smart enough to know this? The Irish know they're not getting someone ASAP. They'll be a little patient and see what happens in conference championship games and bowl bids this weekend. You can bet that no substantial name is off the table at ND.

Funny anyone would take his word on turning down a job. Especially from a fan of the school he denied he would coach at.

so far they've only offered 4 cents more than saban currently makes, to which saban replied "make it a nickel more and i'm in".

Saban would sit at the right side of Jesus at Notre Dame instead of always being a notch below the old pickled Bear at 'Bama.

Saban would be defensive minded coach they claim they are looking for. I bet they make him an offer. Whether he takes it or not is a different story.

We'll have to resurrect the the old Alabama thread and change to "Raise your hand if you turned down the Notre Dame head coaching job".
