Are there any links with definitive answers that Miles will be finally making a DC change?

I think Tweedledum and Tweedledummer are going to be here one more season.

i dont see how miles will get away with letting them stay on as DC's. however i can see miles trying to let them stay on staff. what a mess this has become.

? It is going exactly how the coach wants it to go. Fans are the ones panicking here. He's contacted DC candidates, you only do that if you are planning on hiring a DC - but he never said he'd do it before the bowl game. Fans interpreted his comments about making adjustments the wrong way.

That's right it is. Miles was in complete control this season and continues to be in during the bowl season. The season was just great the way Miles acts and it was the offense playing bad not the defense according to him.

Yea, because he has never addressed the defense as a problem and created a co-coordinador position that has been a disaster.

He never said he'd do shite period. Miles really may not make a move on a DC. I dont know what hes doing but Im canning some arse on Monday after that embarassment to Arkansas. He never sent a message that the way we played was unexceptable.
Do you really think the players are coached well on defense? Why would you subject them to furter shitty coaching? Why would you hold a new DC back by not cleaning house and getting his people in there. Tubby has been doing that crap to coordinadors at Auburn for years.

and he just got fired with his program in chaos
Just face it, Miles doesn't give you any satisfaction, and damnit...you deserve it! To hell with recruiting, and finding the best candidate.

Doing what?
And yes, there will be changes. That has been confirmed. What will the changes be? We won't know until they take place. But it has been reported that Miles has talked with various coaches about a DC job. And it has been said by some posters with inside information that there will be multiple changes including, but not limited to, the current DC's.
I can't believe how one bad season can cause fans to turn on Coach Miles like some have. Having an average year shouldn’t mean the end of the world. I didn't want to believe an article written by Stewart Mandel (SI) that I read last year, but I think it must be true. LSU fan's hatred of Saban had nothing to do with him spurning LSU then ending up at Alabama. The hatred stems from the fear of him turning Alabama around while LSU declines. Our fans hate Saban because we are scared of him, and it is this same fear that has caused so many to turn on Miles after just one average year. It’s ashamed that we can’t stand up and support a coach that made such a strong commitment to LSU and her fans just one year ago. What fair-weather fans we are.

Have you been living under a rock? Tuberville did exactly what you are advocating here (bringing his guy in before the bowl game and completely changing the offense) and he is now unemployed due in large part to that one quick-trigger blunder that he made.
The future of LSU football and the Miles era at LSU >>>> The 2008 Chick Fil A Bowl
Miles knows this is a big hire for him and he is leaving no stone unturned in the seach for the leader of LSU's defense. Patience, my friend. A lot more goes into this than the simple desire to get a new DC in here to coach one bowl game and temporarily appease the fanbase... recruiting, in-home visit regulations, bonus money for coaches, professional decency, interviews, and most importantly.... thought.
I don't care what component of life you're talking about (football, work, relationships, whatever) when you make a quick decision based on emotion you'll probably end up regretting it. Miles is doing what a good CEO does ... get all the info and data and make an informed choice.

i dont deserve anything but the players would probably say they need a change on defense. they are the ones who have come to lsu to win and are not getting coached. its freaking sad. the players are the ones who have been let down by miles defensive staff this year. lsu has as good of talent as anyone on defense. you think recruits or their high school coaches are stupid? its easy to see the lack of fundamentals and developement. they can see shitty coaching. you think getting skull drug by gt is going to help sure up recruiting on defense or sure up that great dc you were hoping to hire. especially when the dc finds out he got to coach up the players and this coaching staff he inherits next season. good lord.

You need to take a deep breath and have patience and trust in Miles. First of all, none of us are happy with the way the defense played this season relative to what we're used to. Second of all, we all know that changes are being made ... AS WE SPEAK in fact.
That aside, it's not the end of the world as you're making it out to be. There are 83 other teams in the FBS that had worse defenses than us this year (that's right, 83 of 119 FBS teams had a worse total defense than LSU). I'm not saying I'm happy with being ranked #36 in total defense ... I'd prefer Top10 like we're used to, my point is just to calm down. All this is correctable and will be corrected very quickly once we have a competent and experienced DC in place.
Miles has made great hires while at LSU. He made one bad hire that at the time most kind of cringed at, but at the same time most of us could not really argue with it. We had won 10 games or more three years in a row ... there was certainly logic in the thinking that "hey, whatever we're doing is working, why change anything?" Well, we all found out that it was a bad choice, unfortunately. changes are being made and LSU will be better for it in the long run and a lesson has been learned by all involved.

No you are living under a rock my friend. Tuby hired Franklin for the bowl game last year and never gave him a staff he could work with. You act like that is some small thing. Like Franklin was a bad hire. What good is an offensive staff if they dont grasp concepts and fine coaching points that are involved with a system like Franklins? The OC cant coach up the coaches every second of practice. Trust me it takes years of playing and coaching in Franklins offense to be worth a crap as a coach. You think Leach, Malzahn, or Mume just hire coaches on a resume.

I don't know how this is really all that relevant to our DC search, and I do not know definitively if Franklin was a good or bad hire or a good or bad coach, but most would certainly agree it was the downfall of Tuberville and Auburn football. I'm not saying Franklin's a bad coach, but the fact remains that hire and the ensuing battle between the two sealed Tubby's fate, so it is what it is. Having said that ...

Your words, not mine ... and if that's the case, then Franklin was an absoulutely TERRIBLE hire for Auburn. Any offense thate takes "years" to learn and implement is not a good offense at all nbecause coaches no longer have "years" in the current setup of elite college and pro football. Auburn was not in a position as a program to "rebuild" nor did they need to. Auburn was "there" already. They just needed some tweaking to get back on top. Now they find themselves on bottom because of that hire.

Well, you're damn sure not going to get one initiated in a short three weeks before a bowl game. Besides which, the best DCs available are getting their Ds ready for their own teams' bowl games.
I never met a successful coach yet who blathered on in public pressers to appease itching ears. Every damn one of them keeps stuff tight to the vest. CLM will release the name of his new DC when he's damned good and ready and no amount of moaning, bitching and grousing will cause him to do so one minute sooner.
Contrary to prevailing rants, he's really not an idiot and he really does value his chosen career. As difficult as it is for many here to comprehend and believe, he's well aware his co-D experiment bombed - I suspect he knew it early on, but there was little to be done about it at the time except to make the best of it and try to get through the season. Firing and/or demoting both or one or the other mid-season would have accomplished nothing - see Tubby and Auburn season for that.
But, bitch on, I'm sure CLM is hanging on our every written word ... NOT!

I really doubt miles will sacrifice his career and standing in the lsu community to keep his coordinators.
But then again I thought the same thing about dinardo

You act like a new coordinadors have never changed teams during bowl season. good lord. Greg Robinson isn't doing much right now and FWIW alot of very good coordinadors are not in bowl games.

Good because he has never even said he will hire a DC or let anyone go on staff. He never once acted like the defense was a problem this season. Its just stunning. Les blue skies.

Wait you suspect coach Miles knew his DC experiment went bad early on.How about Miles being proactive instead of reactive as a coach? Why not demote one of the coordinadors? You act like change make you weak as a coach. After a couple of weeks with the D running around like it has no clue what was going on you would think Miles would step in and make appropriate changes?

Im sure that Les gives a crap if anyone backs him on this board? Whats your point and step out the 80's no one says "NOT" anymore. Let me guess your one of these people who think Miles is in the upper tier of coaches in the SEC, right?
