what is so special about this guy? UCLA offense wasnt special, he did nothing with the titans and with all that usc talent that was there..an organ grinders monkey would have looked good

norm chow is the most accomplished OC in CFB history
i put spurrier 2nd, but if you want to crown his arse, crown him. i'll put chow 2 and it's still a big deal
and his offenses were relevant in CFB as late as 2003-2004

Honestly, I think he is very similar to Crowton where he is a philosopher of the game. If you sat down and interviewed the guy, he would probably come away as a offensive "wizard." Now, his application of that knowledge during the game is the question. I haven't seen him do it since USC.

vince can run a system, but it's not chow's system
they did play teh playoffs with chow changing his offense and vince as a rookie, however

you need this in order to be effective.
with the QB you need a competent person willing to learn. early on Vince tried to get by with his athleticism only and he failed, went crazy and got depressed, they got his shite straight.

i kind of agree, i think he's probably a good OC, but he is pretty overrated

Agreed. The last two years, our QB have not really been "clicking" with Crowton. I have no idea whether it is capacity to learn, willingness to learn or capacity to teach. Crowton's record suggests that a lack of capacity to teach is at least partially responsible. There are certainly other factors as well.

No other OC has even close to Chow's overall resume, especially in terms of QB development. He was thrown into a terrible situation at UCLA where they had horrible injury issues on the o-line and at QB without having any depth
