Bruins assistant Chow guaranteed $1.24 million

LOL NEVERMIND. FORGET I EVER POSTED THIS.

Unless We are willing to pay 2 mill a year.

I figured he would get pait 500-750,000 a year and LSU could possibly double that.

well, he left SC b/c he wasnt happy with his role as OC. he made if clear they werent running his offense, they were running pete carrols offense. maybe hes more unhappy there then he lets on. maybe he wants a new challenge. you just never know with these guys and how they really feel. things change quickly. i would love this hire, but agree its a longshot

it is true we never truly know, but he isn't one to make lateral movements. sure maybe a pay increase but still the same position.

he left USC for the NFL. not a lateral movement.

Dude, you can not be serious in questioning Coach Chow's prowess as an offensive coordinator. Name one player at the skill positions for UCLA that will play in the NFL ?

So Norm Chow is only successful if he has experienced NFL caliber players at all his skill positions? Sounds familiar to what we have now

I guess Nevada, Cincinnati, Texas Tech, Troy, and TCU all have rosters filled with skill players that will play in the NFL

he won a national title at BYU and is probably the best QB developer ever.

UCLA was left nothing by Dorrell. They have no o-line at all and are stuck playing freshman QBs

For those complaining about Crowton's contract. He's paid $450,000 a year.

I believe his contract runs through 2011 so firing him would mean we'd owe him $900K. Furthermore, that is spread out over 4 years. Even further than that, if he gets another job somwhere, and he will, then we only owe the difference.

So its not as big a deal as people think.

You think LSU has more money than UCLA?

Yes. And more money to spend. Like much of Cali., the budget crisis is terrible and getting worse (just ask Gov. Ah-nold). The UC system, even at an internationally ranked school such as UCLA, has been hit hard: Long bus trips instead of flights, teams travelling together & playing double-headers, freezing salaries, layoffs, etc. The football & B-ball coaches took small pay cuts to give $ to assistants,

Also, most of the UC and State schools no longer publish sports media guides; you can browse them on-line or print out the pdf files, but that's it.

My family and I are blessed to have homes (and family) in Lafayette and West L.A., and trust me, money goes much, much farther in LA. Can't wait to bail on the left coast next yr., and hopefully settle in B.R.

This is why UCLA will eventually be good. UCLA didn't have much to begin with and the first year the offense is 111 and then improves to 89th (30 spots) while playing lot of young guys and are already bowl eligible under Neuweasle. They will be even better next year. I think they have done an ok job considering what they had to work with. Just because you are a 4 or 5 star athlete doesn't mean your ready to play with sophomores, juniors and seniors in college.

I myself wouldn't want chow only because with les there it wouldn't be a good situation working wise.
