I'm pretty sure that Texas would want to be part of a conference that distributes more money to them than all of the other schools.

Texas plans on becoming independent. It's the primary reason they've set up that ridiculous LHN and signed deals w/ cable providers.

Correct. Oklahoma was in the mix when A&M jumped ship, but the SEC wouldn't take Okie Lite, and those two are joined at the hip forever. That left the door open for Mizzou, which had to do SOMETHING after all that B1G talk that never panned out.
Also overlooked is the fact that t.u. got custody of the kids in the divorce. The same forces that ensured Tech and Baylol tag along to the Big 12 will fight tooth and nail to keep them linked to the sips. If the BDF does collapse, t.u. must find homes for those two as well as itself--and that rules out the SEC and B1G.

Baylor just built a $200 million dollar stadium on the good faith that the big 12 would stay together. Ken Starr is their president. Texas Tech and Baylor will keep the tsips out of the SEC forever. That, and A&M would say no.

I would personally love to see Saban recruit against Alabama from a team in their same division. Auburn would be the best case scenario. Never mind that it would be bad for LSU.

Nightmare, but would be bad for Texas too. Sec would not give Texas so much control, revenue sharing, etc... UT network or whatever it's called would be fricked

Texas isn't coming to the SEC, at least not unless A&M decides to let them. Politically, Texas can't leave Tech, Baylor, and TCU. That is, unless A&M were to put their support behind the move. Good luck with that.

Saban may go to Texas and that certainly shuffles the deck but Texas isn't going to the SEC. They also aren't going Independent. No matter how you slice it Texas just doesn't have enough political power to harm 3 Texas Universities without A&M giving them cover.
