It would have had aTm specially state in their clause that under no circumstances are Texas allowed in the SEC. OU is okay, anyone but Texas, and Mike Slives agreed.

Pretty sure that is an unwritten agreement if nothing else. There are simply too many things that are highly unlikely to impossible to happen for Texas to ever come to the SEC. The biggest being the huge political obstacles that Texas would face in leaving the BDF and the fact there are 3 schools in the SEC that are in the SEC in part to get away from Texas.
It's just not happening, I could go on listing other reasons. Still my favorite is Texas can't do anything without A&M's support that would result in blowing up the BDF.

I don't think LSU would be crying that much.
Oklahoma, probably A LOT more than us.
LSU was always Bama's/Saban's biggest obstacle. Had Bama not got a second chance in 2011, and had we converted one (1) first down in 2012, no one would even care right? It would be LSU's dynasty we'd be talking about, not Nick Saban and Alabama.
It's that close.
LSU is LSU. Our available talent pool, our facilities, our locale. The LSU pipeline to the NFL has been well established.
Alabama, with or without Saban, would be looking up to LSU again soon enough. LSU still is the best overall program in the SEC in this millenium, heading into its 15th year. A 10-3 season after sending nearly half our starters to the NFL is a rebuilding year for us. Watch what happens in a couple weeks in the 2014 recruiting class.
It matters not, LSU would still reload.
Some Texas A&M fans had this attitude as well a couple years ago when they signed up, thinking LSU was in trouble for some silly reason or another. Even got a Heisman trophy in the process.
A lot of national pub. Even bragged about being a top dog in the SEC.
They have yet to beat us.
Bottom line, in order to stop the LSU train Alabama needed an LSU coach to get to where they were. With or without Saban, Bama would eventually have their fair share of looking
up to LSU. So would Texas. Or Oklahoma.
Or anyone else.

If that would happen, long term, Bama would have Florida and Georgia, and based on the last 25 years of college football, it sounds like Bama would get the worst of it.
I fail to see why anyone thinks Texas and Oklahoma being added would be that big of a deal to LSU.
