So this will get interesting. Apparently there is a dispute on whether the language of Nielsen’s contract will support the move to the college ranks. The #Saints are currently NOT signing off on this per sources.

This would be a really bad look for the saints not letting an assistant move to a position he wants. On brand for them though considering they suck at pr. The franchise was dumb enough to consult on child rape cover up using their emails

They can't force him to stay. It's just a question of damages if he breaches. Often those damages are stipulated in the contract. The question is how much is LSU willing to pay?

This isn’t a Sean Payton issue. It’s a contract issue. Payton doesn’t write up contracts. If Payton wanted to block this, he would be done so by not allowing us to speak with a Nielsen.

Payton must be starting to get pissed off that coach O keeps poaching people off his staff in particular.

If we can get Nielsen I think the saints well is about to dry up for coach O.

O would be well advised, when looking for coaches at the NFL level, to start looking at other teams rather than only the saints. I think Payton must be about fed up with O, and is going to start making getting coaches from the saints a real pain in the arse.

How on earth is it not a Payton issue? The Saints are not obligated to enforce the contract. You think Mickey Loomis is forcing him too? Don’t make me laugh.

frick the Saints. My number one priority is LSU football. If they block this, they can go to Hell. They are about to enter years of mediocrity so

they most likely want us to buy out his contract. Which I don't see being a problem considering we just gave the new OC and PGC allowances of up to $800 a month for new vehicles. (correct me if I'm wrong on that but I'm almost certain I read that).
