The word around tigertown is that a new DC has been hired and will be announced the day after the bowl game. I heard this from a guy in the know in TAF.

My guy told me he spoke to some dude called The General (supposed to be the next head of TAF). Told him he has no clue who the new DC is, but it will be announced day after the bowl.

Chavis with Ed O on the Dline. Don't know about the DB coach. I'm assuming Chavis would bring in whoever he has at that position.

they actually have a thread on the rant saying miles is anouncing on jan 2 or 3 to take the wind out of bama's sails

Which speculated hire would actually do that? Other than hiring Saban's DC away from him, which of our potential candidates could possibly have an impact of that magnitude on Bama?

It may not be a national thing. May be a local thing.
If l.s.u. hires ogeron and say walker or chavis. then this would be big news in New Orleans, tenn or california, and Louisiana overshadowing the sugar bowl.
Nationally, the sugar bowl isn't going to be getting a lot of attention with the poor matchup anyway.
Regionally, it could steal a little attention away for the home stretch of recruiting.
If l.s.u. hires ogeron and say walker or chavis. then this would be big news in New Orleans, tenn or california, and Louisiana overshadowing the sugar bowl.
Nationally, the sugar bowl isn't going to be getting a lot of attention with the poor matchup anyway.

I would love it if they had the announcement and press conference on January 2nd or 3rd. After what Bama did 2 years ago, this would be a little revenge. And I agree there wouldn't be much made of the hire(s) nationally, but in Louisiana it would definitely be big news and steal attention from the Sugar Bowl.

I'm thinking the way we "take the wind out of Bama's sails" would be to hire Walker/Chavis, and O as d-line coach..unless anyone knows if maybe theres possibly an LB or DB coach we hire that a certain big time recruit may follow to LSU..JMO

how about this scenerio. Announce the d.c. and possibly the d line coach Jan 2, Then loston and debose announces l.s.u. on Jan 3rd and Jan 4th then recruiting heats back up with a lot of buzz about l.s.u.
