Good get for AU, but the numbers of the contract will determine how good.

Everyone not an OM fan knew if AU made a serious run at Kiffin, he was going to jump. AU is more of a destination job than OM will ever be. Just one of those things.

Again, it’s not an ACTUAL destination job like Texas or Bama.

Auburn is competing with the Texas’ and Bama’s of the world for Lane. If Kiffin is angling for a true, blue-chip job it’s unlikely he’ll go to Auburn. It would make sense for him to stay at Ole Miss until one opens up.

AU's NIL has a campaign to raise $30MM in 3 yrs and I've heard folks say they got that in pledges the minute Harsin was canned.

This year's $10MM goal was met in a little over a month from the time OTV announced the goal/membership pricing. I'm not sure if the $30MM has been made yet, but you're correct that it surged again the moment Harsin was fired. I heard a number of just over $3MM in 48 hours. If the $30MM goal hasn't been met, I'm sure it's closing in on it.

The only thing Texas has is more money and a bigger fanbase. The only thing Bama has is Nick Saban and a bigger trophy case.

Auburn is still paying top notch money for a coach, has one of the most passionate fanbases in the country, has some of the nicest facilities in the country (5 star recruits that were shown the soft open said THE nicest), proximity to HS talent that can win championships, a top tier NIL collective, is a top 15-20 program historically, and the trophy case isn't exactly bare.

Now, it may not be "destination job", but it is definitely a top tier job in the country.

Chris Low said Auburn had 8-10 times the NIL OM has and the collective moving in a positive direction.

They should have been paying more attention to Southern Miss.

I’m not saying lane is/isn’t going to AU but I wouldn’t trust a chubby chaser like Neal with this info

One of these days Lane will figure out where he wants to be.

There will be no pods. Just everyone is 1 division with a 3-6 schedule. The Sec has already said that

Also Auburn will get Vandy as their 3rd perm because their other 2 will be Bama and Georgia. Bama will get Kentucky or State

while you are right, how does him being at AU who we will no longer play every year instead of OM whom we likely will player annually...spell not good news for LSU?

I didn’t say AU was on Texas or Bama’s level. I said AU is more of a destination job than OM is; which it objectively is.

Kiffin is weighing OM vs AU, not AU vs Bama or Texas.

In a vaccum yes but the real debate in his head factors in his future chances at Bama/ Texas by taking the AU job. Especially in the short term with no Matt Corral on roster which helped OM get back to "competitive" level quickly.

OM has made an offer to Lane which would make him one of the highest paid coaches in SEC history

Kiffin may go to Aubarn but he would also 100% leave and go to Bama a few years later for the troll factor/shits and giggles

Hey snaggle tooth, I think you would be better served to worry about the coaching situation at gay and m than what's happening at AU.

I think we all agree Lane is a hired gun. Whenever a better opportunity arises, he will jump at it.

That may not be jumping to AU. Or it may mean jumping from AU in just a few years.
