Didn't Brady call 3rd down plays in 2019? I think he got more than he could handle in Carolina, and with thwir talent is was always going to be hard to make the offense great. Kelly seems to want to be very involved in offensive gameplanning, could be a good learning opportunity for Brady to be full time play caller while having an experienced coach to lean on.

This is actually a good point. Shouldn't matter if he's not a great play caller if BK is calling the play. Instead of Ensminger/Brady, we'll have Kelly/Brady.

Well, that theory is debunked because he called third down and red zone plays and they were the most efficient at both categories in the nation.

Carolina is bottoms 8 in yards and points per game.
You have no idea how stupid that post is.
Obviously you've not watched Carolina much this year.

Darnold was missing 15yd square outs by 5yds. On 10yd slants he'd throw the ball 2ft over the receivers reach. Envision the pass Trevor Lawrence overthrew in the 2020 CG that nearly got Amari Rodgers killed when Jacoby Stevens tried to break him in half. Now think about a pro QB doing that repeatedly to his receivers during a game.

That was Darnold.

Plus, Carolina brought in Robby Anderson as Darnold's go to receiver, and the guy suddenly developed stone hands. He's probably had 15 drops on wide open plays this season.

With McCaffery injured, the Darnold-Anderson combo had to work.

Brady did have a big hand in bringing Darnold & Anderson to Carolina from the NY Jets. He owns that. But there is no coordinator in the league who could have won with the shite sandwich of Darnold-Anderson turned out to be this year.

When Brady was at LSU ( and calling third down and red zone plays), they were in the top 3-5 in those categories in the nation. That’s not an accident that you weren’t that good in those categories before and after he was at LSU.

The Panthers have struggled offensively, with Brady’s offense not staying ahead of opposing defenses and/or its own tendencies and tells.

We have some dumb frick fans. They want to credit slinger bc he stayed, they refuse to see 16, 18 and 20 as normal and somehow think 19 happens without Brady.

First off it’s really Sean Paytons offense. Brady was an assistant to an assistant there and was asked to put together some RPO packages using Taysom Hill. A large part the success at LSU was a guy named Joe Burrow and an all star cast of receivers who are tearing it up in the NFL. Brady went to the NFL as an OC……not so much. Are you seriously saying Ensminger had no part.

FALSE!
The Panthers struggled because Darnold missed open receivers, and when he didn't, they dropped the ball. Brady had to rely heavily on McCaffrey in the passing game as well as running. When McCaffrey got hurt, they had nothing.

It's hard to "stay ahead of a defense" when your QB and receivers consistently miss easy plays on 3rd down conversions.

No. No one is saying he "had no part".

On the other hand, are you saying that the 2019 offense was a simple evolution of Ensminger's 2018 offense? The timing, execution, and design of LSU's 2019 passing offense and RPOs was 100% Joe Brady. If he's interested in returning to LSU, it would be an atomic mistake not to bring him back.

That why I dint Care when people say shite like “he only called third downs and Redzone”

We were one of the best 3rd down and Redzone teams in the country.

Hire as the PCG, sure. Hire him as the OC, I'm not convinced. Never was. And he has made no secret of the fact that his desire is to work in the NFL.

His failures in the NFL make him less appealing but some, maybe much, of that can be ascribed to the personnel. The same can be said of his success at LSU with the added consideration of a seasoned OC functioning as an impulse control mechanism.

Just my take. If we hire him in any capacity, I hope he succeeds beyond our wildest dreams. If we do not, I will lose no sleep over it.

My 7 yr old could've called players with Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, Moss, CEH, etc.

Dude got way too much love and cashed in.

He was in the right place at the right time.

Pass.

It is pretty funny. LSU has been chasing the ghost of Joe Brady for two years and now he's available and fans can't even with him right now. If Coach O was still in charge Joe Brady would've already been hired to the most lucrative contract an OC has ever seen. He would be named assistant head coach and HC in waiting. The field at Tiger Stadium would be named after him.

The reality is that we now have two years of hindsight. Turns out 2019 might've been less about Joe Brady and more about having one of the greatest collections of talent ever assembled.

Man the irony of if Brady comes here and has success again. O gets fired after talking about the “joe Brady offense” for 2 years and then he comes back. Also if we still had O how much would he be bother Brady right now lol.
