ND is currently #6 in the nation. Kelly is 60. He easily could retire at ND.

Why on earth would he leave? Are we about to embarrass ourselves again targeting him?
He ain’t starting over at LSU. Makes no sense.

He’s made comments about needing to get ND to the next level. He’s been embarrassed on the national stage before because he didn’t have the horses. I could see him wanting to prove he’s a NC caliber coach. He’s a very competitive guy from what I gather. I think it’s possible he could simultaneously love his job but be interested in a big opportunity at the same time.

There’s only one reason. If he thinks he’s tapped out and will never win a title at ND, he’s almost out of time to make a move to somewhere without the restrictions in play there.
That said, he’s probably just looking for leverage on ND.

Maybe he knows he’ll never win a title there and he’s ready to see what he can do at a program with the horses like LSU has.
