Sounds like the first point is true. It looks like the President and AD are coming from McNeese.

Oh sure, man, no problem. And I totally agree.
It's all for fun. I'm just a nobody that happens to know one guy who rubs shoulders with and is related to several people that have an in on the state level and at a particular school of interest.
Other than that, all my friends are just a mix of country people, church people and co-workers. I'm no jetsetting CEO type.

Yeah, and apparently that info was already starting to leak. It was the first I had heard about them when my source told me so I thought I had the scoop on the 2 McNeese emplyees. Apparently not. So in full disclosure it looks like "stolen valor" on my part but I honestly didn't know about the tweets that were out there saying basically the same thing.
Saban or no Saban, they are definitely going to make him say No.

This is a very valid counter argument.
My reasons are thin and a reach at best...but here goes:
He's heard the rumors that he couldn't handle the NIL era and this bothers him and he wants to prove people wrong.
He hates that his last game as a HC was a loss
He has a love for LSU because we gave him a shot for his first title, and he feels bad about leaving us for the Dolphins and he wants to "make things right.
All are pretty weak arguments but that's all I've got.

I think it is as simple as he walked away but feels like he has a little left in him after being away from coaching for 2 years.
Probably doesn't want to start over and if Bama were open, he may have gone back there, but since LSU is and it is one of his only professional regrets, may want to just come back and make amends while also getting his last few years of coaching.
It helps that LSU isn't a full rebuild. We have talent and everything in place. Additionally, with NIL you can build a playoff contender in 1 year easily.

I know Verge personally, and he’s a great guy. I don’t want him in charge of our athletic department. His scheduling screwed us in multiple seasons. No thanks. Go bring Nunez home.

this shite isnt difficult...
1) the BoS meets today at 9am. They will pick a president. you can watch it here
2) the AD will not be named today. They are going to go after Brooks. If he says no, then they will bump verge and Schroyer is coming from McNeese one way or another but not as AD right off the bat, there was push back from certain people and they said that was too big a jump. Matt Fontenot might be coming too but he will prolly get McNeese job. There is 1 other guy they are looking at that they may pursue if brooks says no.
3) all the shite about saban being offered is common knowledge....guess what....florida reached out to him and so did penn state...so what? that happens everytime.

Whether I'm right or wrong, this will all be forgotten in a few months and I'll slip back into TD obscurity where I've always been for the last 18yrs that I've been a registered member. Which is how I like it.
