This needs to be addressed more than Crowton, IMO. Despite Crowton's oddball playcalls, we are probably 12-1 or 13-0 right now with even slightly better OLine play.

this pisses me off the most. with all the potential on this team we COULD be in the NC game and at worst playing in the Sugar.

I think his replacement might be even more important than crowton.

Or Miles could become more involved in the Day-to-day coaching of the OL.

We had a legitimate shot at the Sugar with these three things

-better coaching
-better o line play
-better QB decisions

If Miles could do better than Stud, then why isin't he doing it?

Excellent news. I guess I need to continue narrowing down my BCS OC thread.

Lets go after Charlie Weis hard!

He seemed to love college football and watching players develop...(Something Les and Crowdon rarely do)... Furthermore it gives us QBs! Legit QBs! You know, guys who can make the passes?

I disagree with this. When the offense concentrated on one phase (running, passing, etc.) the line played well. When Crowton tried to get stupid, the line had to adjust their schemes. Everyone talks about the QB or running backs knowing the schemes, but the line has a tougher time. When they lined up (1st half at Ga., at times against bama and Ole Piss) and went down the field it was one scheme. Typically it was th I formation with 2 backs and 2 wr's of shot gun with 1 back and 3 wr's.

If Jefferson can learn to step up into the pocket, teams better look out, because he can be dangerous.

Since you seem to be hooked in, could you either confirm or refute a couple of rumors I keep hearing?

1. Les was not given an extension for last year (even though he had 8 wins).

2. If there is a change at OC, it will not be until after the bowl game and the new OC would have significant input on the OL coach.

Thanks....

I agree. With all the different schemes Crowton tried to run, imagine what it was like for those OL to adjust.

Now, I have no idea how good a coach Stud is, but his resume looks plenty solid to me. Plus, when he came, the fans at Bowling Green said he was a fiery coach.

The play calling that all of us said was so predicable has to have a major affect on the olines' ability to block when the whole fricking defense knows what the play his, i.e. RS and TH coming into the game for "their" play.

I'm not defending Stud, but I am saying, take into account your own arguments about getting rid of Crowton and apply that to the Oline coach's ability to get the oline to do the job.

I'm not sure I am following. I am saying that with all the formations, there is a better chance of failure because of the different assignments. When the playcalling was conservative (runs, short pass, with a couple of down field throws) the line play was pretty good. i am not defending Stud either, but people need to ake this into consideration.

I do feel Crowton needs to go because of the situations he put Lee in against LA Tech. Lee was never comfortable. I just hope someone can come here and develop the young QB's.

I find it hard to believe that the entire offensive staff would turn over except for Stud, considering the OL was one of the worst units on the team. If/when we get a new OC, I am sure that a new OL coach would go with it. I wouldn't worry too much if BP is correct (which I have no reason to believe he is not).

Stud may be leaving too, I just don't know that, nor do I know if he is staying.

I simply just don't know.
