Living in Alabama, I have lots of Bama and Auburn friends. I was talking with some very serious Auburn fans tonight and they were saying that if Muschamp did go to LSU, they would not miss him much. They say that they haven't been that impressed with him, overall.

I just thought it was interesting to hear that from the other fanbase and from guys that I trust to not just be snowing me.

That's funny. I was very impressed with him at LSU.

I think you should question the motive of your "friends." How could they not be pleased with Muschamp's performance at AU the past 2 years? They have played awesome D considering the talent level there recently.

Maybe they have some legit complaints. But, you have to take in account that they watch his every move every single game. Plenty of our fans, on here at least, aren't impressed with our staff.

I'm sure if you talk to a variety of fans of every staff in the country, people will have complaints.....even at UF, Ohio State, OU,etc.

How many points did Arkansas score on Auburn this year?

I'm an LSU fan as far as what school I pull for. Have been since I was a small child.

As for their motives, I was really surprised. This is a good guy and we always talk football. He's real up front about stuff. But, Rocket is right. He watches every play and rips it apart just like we do. The Georgia game left a sour taste in the mouth of a lot of Auburn fans. I was impressed with Muschamp at LSU, but I never knew how much was Saban. I thought he has done a good job at Auburn, but the impression that I was given was that he is replaceable.

Take it for what it's worth. Again, the Georgia game has frustrated them.

I personally love the guy, any complaints would most likely come from the Georgia game. I mean, 45-20? They aren't THAT much better than we were, I know this because we were more than in the game (in the lead for a while) up until the end of the third quarter, when our team just decided to lie down and get destroyed. That is the only example I can give to why people would not be impressed with him so far.

His game plan against arkansas was great. Seemed like there was always 3 or 4 guys tackling mcfadden/jones.

I know.

You guys at LSU won't miss Bo and Auburn won't miss Muschamp and OU won't miss Venables.

LOL

Out of those 3, I personally believe Bo will be the best HC fit for Nebraska.

I wouldn't be surprised if Venables AND Muschamp also get HC jobs this off season as well.

Every fan base thinks their coaches are idiots - it's just the way it is. And fans who have an interest in another school's coach will explain away those SAME misgivings with ease.

Just look at the Nebraska boards re Pelini, LSU boards with Muschamp, and UM boards re Miles.

Looked like Dorsey isn't the same guy he was start of the year, not even close.

I wasn't so impressed with the other interior guy playing next to Dorsey either, is he a backup or hurt?

The SEC is certainly the toughest league top to bottom right now.

I know! I just laugh when I hear it coming from 10-2/9-3 teams in BCS/Top 6 Conferences, though.

Considering what we've been through at Nebraska the last half decade or so.

If LSU had an offense this year you would have never gone to OT once let alone triple OT twice!

Just my opinion. I'm a big Bayou Bengal fan and have been since the '71 Orange Bowl.

This is a record year offensively for LSU..we are scoring almost 10 pts a game more this year than last year with 1st overall pick QB and 2 1st round WRs gone and an ENTIRELY NEW offensive staff from OC to WR coach to OL coach. Our low for the year is 28...scoring points is not the problem.

Hurt Knee+Back spasms make it kinda tough to play at an elite level

backup Charles alexander is out for the season

We put up plenty of points versus KY and Ark in regulation. In both games though we couldn't stop them from scoring at all. Even when they had 3rd(or 4th) and long they would still convert it.

True we have more raw talent on Defense this year than I can remember being at LSU on D.

Ali and Dorsey I think will both be first round picks. Steltz should be gone in the first 2 or 3 rounds, and Beckwith will get picked up somewhere.

Yet we can't stop Ark from converting 4th and 10?

I honestly don't understand how the players understand him. I remember seeing that ESPN special on us back in 2003 and him in front of the chalkboard. His accent is so thick, with that twang, that I couldn't make out half the words. And most of our players are not rednecks so I don't see how they get it.
