They must have talked to him about something because you are like the 10th person to say he was on campus

Well if they go that route. Then Make Mushamp Co-DC and LB coach and Corey Co-DC and CB coach. Kirby has Co-DC's at UGA.

They better talk to freeman and make him say no before they go after a frickin retread. The whole Muschamp or retread HC is not the route to success

If O goes with Muschamp then his days are numbered.

It was said on here a few days ago and I agree: the only DCs worth considering should be the ones who have successfully stopped a modern offense.

CFB is no longer ground and pound. Time to stop making defensive hires like it is.

Well I agree. However, what is the budget to make these hires. You fired 3 coaches, who you owe some buyouts. Revenues are down this year.

How much would it take for Freeman to move and do you have the green light to pay what he would want. My theory, is no.

So the Muschamp hire might be the compromise that gets O and the AD to settle on. You have a COVID situation and you can pay Muschamp from your budget 500K, etc and SCAR and his buyout pay the rest.

This is just me, but if you go Muschamp, If I am O I would make Corey CO-DC/CB coach and have him do everything a DC does, save Call signals (Muschamp has the experience) but you give Corey a chance to move up the Coaching ladder and you develop one of your own LSU guys coaching skills and have potential internal promotion from your own staff that is well liked, good coach, recruits well, etc.

Before covid LSU football alone made tens of millions a year. If LSU doesn't have something in the vault then there are waaaay bigger problems

Who was the 5 star guy he got sign there last year? Was between LSU and USCe. Possible transfer portal guy if true?

It is not what LSU has in the vault, it is what TAF has in the vault. And they do not have to provide Financial statements to the public, I do believe.

But the reality is there was a COVID impact on Revenues, a reported 1) $80 million dollar shortfall due to loss Ticket, parking, Concession, game day merchandise sales and 2) LSU's bowl ban will cost us an estimated $8 million more in loss bowl revenues.

The bowl revenues by themselves could have handled all the buyouts for the coaches that were fired (not including Slinger and Johnson who will move into football ops positions).

If it is Muschamp, not someone on my list at all, then just hypothesizing here, this suggest to me that Woody is not giving Coach O budget that says go hire anyone you want and I will pay. In other words, Woody does not appear to me to be on board with another Bo Pellini type DC contract.

If it is Muschamp, then what that tells me is LSU will pay enough just to have some skin in the game but SCAR will be paying Muschamp via the Buyout.

If things go South next year, LSU will not have 2 Bo Pellini type DC contracts on the books because then you are going to have to go out and actually hire a DC with a Bo Pellini type contract. So just projecting out hypothetically to January 2022 and assuming LSU does not turn it around next year, then you could have 3 Bo Pellini type DC contracts on the books if you go that route for this hire. From what I am reading and picking up here and there, I just don't see that happening.

I think Woody is going to give O a chance to fix it, but O is going to have to make it work without a blank check for this DC hire. So if it does turn out to be Muschamp, I would make Corey Raymond CO-DC/CB's coach and have him work with Muschamp and develop his Coordinator skills, Boom would handle the signals on game day.

That way, Corey getting a chance to move up the coaching ladder could help keep the locker room chemistry that seem to come together these last 2 games over into next year so at least all the fractured locker room stuff we heard about last summer can be put in the past.

Again, I liked Freeman from Cincinnati, but I just don't think LSU is going to come up with what it would take to hire him away at this time.

So if it is Muschamp, then if I am O, I use that as an opportunity to be creative and give Corey a CO-DC which could help team morale and chemistry and at least that will not be an issue for 2021.

It looks like a sink or swim year anyway. LSU goes 6-6 next year after 5-5 this year, does anyone think O is here in 2022? That might be the thinking in the building from Woody's perspective as well. Not going to get financially strapped budget wise with these Hires in case He needs to make change next year at HC position.

With that said, I hope it works out for O next year.
