I never understood how Miss St./Mullen get's a pass for not having talent. How is it harder to recruit at Miss St. than Ole Miss?

Ole Miss has never made it to Atlanta, State has under a different coach. secondly, they don't have the history of the rebel flag and Dixie. thirdly, Herman is at a more difficult school to attract talent and have success but it doesn't hold him back.

great coaches succeed wherever they go. Mullen would be hiring a coach to hire a coach. Howard schnellenburger (however you spell his name) made Miami something, Beamer made v-tech something, briles made Baylor something, saban made Mich st and lsu something, Harbaugh made Stanford something, Urban Meyer made Utah and Florida something.

what the hell has mullen made? Miss st. is about what they have always been under him. so they compete hard. I want a champion not a also ran.

The list of average or crap teams that have played us close under Miles is pretty lengthy. Mullen isn't special

Love your posts and please keep them coming DA....I'm definitely a fan of yours, screw the haters.

That said, this one was weak... Of course Briles and Mullen want this job, does that really need to even be stated? I'm sure they'd both give their left nut for this job. That's like saying Ed Orgeron wants the full time job... Of course he does.

Briles won't happen, and Mullen would only be a serious target if and after the A-list candidates don't work out.

ole miss hasnt won the SEC since 1963, its been just as hard to recruit there until they started buying players 5 years ago.

seriously, 5 stars just started crossing the country to go to Oxford, Mississippi one day, just overnight, for no apparent reason. why do you think that would be?

People who live in reality suck. I get it.

Also, i dont pick movies apart for being realistic when they aren't supposed to be. You know why? Because they don't claim to be something they aren't, unlike your little buddy posting here.

So, go ahead keep piling on. I'm ok with it. If you don't like having rational discussions that's not on me.

I do know higher ups love coach o and it wouldn't surprise me he stays on and brings his own offensive guy. Keep the existing staff
well, crap. I've never willingly pulled against LSU, but I'm in a bind on this one. I love Coach O as an LSU ambassador and asst HC, and even interim HC, but I don't think we should settle for him as our CEO of football. I'd be disappointed.

Precisely. I get he is a "hometown guy" and all, but man would it feel, to me, like a big swing and a miss if he gets the job.

I feel that way today (would be hugely disappointed with O full time), but I'm keeping an open mind. Let's see how the season plays out and possibly re-evaluate.
