If it came down to Napier or Kiffin, give me Napier all f'ing day long.

If it came down to this, Woodward's search should be characterised as a colossal failure

I don't think Fickell or Tucker would come here. YOu are right about Aranda and Napier being our most likely realistic options, but I would add Chadwell to that list as well. This board has really got out of hand lately with talk of coaches such as Kiffen, Fanklin, and Riley being thought to be actual possibilities. They are not coming here, period.

so can you give me your thought process on Kiffin over Napier?

Napier @ ULL >>>> than Kiffin @ FAU

Kiffin failed at USC, barely had UT with a winning record, went .500 at ole miss last year, never lost less than 3 games at FAU and had a losing season 33% of the time there.

This is Kiffins second season where he prolly loses 2 games or less. He also isnt some great recruiter like people make him out to be, atleast without O. Right now he is 10th in the conference, #6 in conference last year, his first season after being hired he was 12th.

I will give Kiffin credit, his team this year is 9th in the conference in team talent and obviously much better than that but its not like he has been killing in transfer portal either.

dont get me wrong I like Kiffin, but using past results when he has been at been programs...he has been mediocre.

I have a question, and did not see this posted anywhere else, so forgive me if it was covered already. What are the odds that SW hires someone that is not on anyone's radar? I don't even know who that person could be, as it seems every name possible has been discussed, lol, but could not there be someone that is not being thought of?
The history behind this for me is actually when we hired Napier: there was a list, and everyone thought Brent Pry would be the choice. I don't think Napier was even on the list, and if he was he was not discussed much. Most of us said "who?" when they announced him and had to do a quick search.
Of course that hire worked out very well for us in the end.

This part of the OP is a bit confusing.

1. Most are saying Fickell would not come here and that he has said as much.
2. You would put Fickell behind both Aranda and Napier?

Fickell and Tuckers current jobs can't compete with what we would offer $ wise and would be a major step up in program.

Kiffin has too much baggage and mixed bag results to get the offer imo opinion unless he comes cheap.

Everyone else has employers that would match anything we offer and are at good schools.

This will be just like last go around, EO was my last choice and same with many other fans. Everyone thought for sure we would land a big fish. Gravel voice was the choice.

What baggage? He's head coach at another SEC school right now and they're doing well and there's literally no baggage to speak of. Whatever this baggage is it seems to have no effect and no one seems to care.

Immaturity incidents and didn't he have a lot of smoke around him about a affair with a student at one time?
