Morons on CCB complaining about Riley

People on this board are complaining about the potential Riley hire despite his stellar record, multiple conference championships, playoff appearances and Heisman winners, all while he’s under 40.
“He lost 3 playoff games.” “His teams don’t play great defense” while ignoring Aranda’s deficiencies. Hello. Dave Aranda had a losing season at Baylor immediately following a year where they played in a NY6 bowl. 2-7 is horrible. His coaching record is 10-9! Aranda has ZERO conference championships and playoff appearances. He just lost to a crap TCU team 11 das ago. His LSU defenses gave up tons of points plenty of times. 72 points to A&M in 2018? 41, 38, 38 to Bama, Texas and Ole Miss during our championship year. He’s not an infallible defensive genius. No rational person can argue Aranda has a better resume than Riley or has accomplished more.
While Aranda may turn out to be a great coach, Riley has already proven he is a great coach and would be a grand slam hire.

I just can't wrap my head around the folks that don't want Riley because he doesn't play defense and hasn't won anything but were all aboard the Lane train.

My favorite is the talking heads in BR stating that LSU is a pinnacle job and any competent HC can win titles here and then shitting on a 53-9 HC being hired

Riley has been my 1a from the beginning, but even if he wasn’t, two days ago we were hiring Mark fricking Stoops.

It's classic FOMO. As soon as the hire is announced a significant portion of the fan base will instantly fear another coach would have been better.

Nothing is guaranteed with Riley or Aranda, but Aranda could end up being the next Nick Saban at USC, Fla or OU. It’s definitely something fans shouldn’t ignore. So get over it!

It's unbelievable. If you literally go down the list, as of now Dave and Mel are kinda the same coach at least on paper.
DA - 10-9
MT - 11-6
DA Specialty - Defense
MT Specialty - Defense
DA Recruiting - TBD
MT Recruiting- Highly thought of
DA - Smaller power 5 job

I don't get how you can shite on tucker but stump for Aranda just off the data.
FTR-I think both are solid coaches with alot of potential, I just want the more proven coach for LSU.

I'm not aboard any train other than I think we need a coach who knows how to coach and develop defenses. Defensive coaches tend to have staying power. Offensive guys are sexy but ultimately get figured out. I always think of Houston and Andre Ware and David Klingler....they did not win championships but their offenses were fun to watch....for a few years, then....

His team just lost to Baylor (just one loss I know) a team with lesser talent but much more toughness and confidence. IMO he is a whiner, a little like Kiffin in that respect. His teams lack toughness, the SEC west isn’t a good place for a very talented soft team. And there are no disparate opinions on his interest in defense.
