If Del Rio gets axed at Jacksonville, any chance we could get him back?

He wasn't too happy about being passed over for offensive coordinator when Jimbo left and we currently have a wide receivers coach (one that tried to bolt to the NFL after his first year with us). I'll say no.

apparently the only thing that McCarthy has going for him is his ability to recruit the west coast. But to be honest he kinda creeps me out a little. My fiance's friend is dating a football player, and McCarthy texts her and stuff to see if they're out and to make sure that she isnt "playin his boy" (his boy being the football player) thats a direct quote by the way.

It kinda weirded me out

Max, isn't this McCarthy's first year? I am definitely not sold on the guy, but is it fair to judge him yet with the QB play his guys had to deal with?

What has that done for us?

I'd love for that to happen.

Obviously, this is a long, long shot.

its his 2nd year

way too many drops, lazy route running, and shitty blocking under his watch for my taste

Ah, then I would agree that we need to make a change there.

yea apparently McCarthy is the "friend" to all the wide receivers. and I think its been widely discussed that we have too many "friend" coaches on this staff already. If he isnt getting on em and lighting a fire under their asses, it could explain why the receivers (except for Lafell and Tolliver late) didnt really play with much intensity this season. They seemed pretty lackadaisical

Lafell must not have listened to him during these lessons. The hands lessons are another matter.

Lafell also has two years under Monken which the others don't.

True. McCarthy royally fricked Byrd up. Combined with Byrd's attitude.

I hated Monken as a OC candidate. Never as WR coch.

Good point, and I really believe that with a legit WR coach Tolliver would already be AJ Greening it for us. If we bring in a real coach for him, he's going to be sick next year (but hopefully we wont need to rely on him as much if brandon doesnt go in the draft), bc Jared' is definitely going in the MLB draft this year
