Love to hear the feedback of some of the posters on here for Miss St.

Ok so the Leach hire for y’all is a splashy hire and congrats on that. Leach had proven he knows how to win wherever he lands. But the HUGE knock on him, and as all of you already know this, his teams just don’t play defense. I think his philosophy is, I don’t care I will just out score everyone. Which hey it is a great philosophy until you run into the teams that you don’t out score.

So my question to y’all is the following;

Miss State is known for its tough arse defenses, even thru the Mullen era. How do y’all feel about the probable reality that going forward your defenses will always rank in the bottom of not just the SEC but probably college football as a whole, that is if Leach is consistent with the past. How do y’all feel about that???

This isn’t a troll post in anyway, just trying to get y’all’s thoughts on the subject

The only number that matters is in the "W" column.

If State ponies up the money for a DC, it could be an attractive job. They'll have complete control over their defense. You won't have to worry about the HC meddling on that side of the ball

I agree, but you don’t win SEC championships in this league without playing defense. Name me just one team in the past 20years to win the SEC without a stout defense, just one!

They were fine when Grinch was there.

Depends on what you mean. 2007 LSU gave up like 30 points a game against SEC teams.

Mississippi St doesn’t win SEC Championships. Leach’s job is to get them competitive. Anything else is gravy.

I don't think that's a probable reality at all.

Someone's AD will feel the heat if Leach gets MSU to a new year's six bowl

Leach teams having dookie defenses is overstated. From 16–18 Washington State was in the top 50 each season in scoring defense.

Well, he should have more staff money to work at at MSU than the previous two coaching gigs (crazy...right?) so maybe that will help with recruiting and defense.

The DC hire is the big one for him. The Washington State defenses were solid under Grinch and it showed in the W/L column. McNeill did pretty well under him too and Tech rose up.

He’s so good at hiring and identifying young offensive guys and you know what you’re running anyways. If they can get assistants though that can recruit some of the front 7 talent that MS produces every year they could be scary

5-3 in sec play is his ceiling imo. Not a Huge knock on him Mullen is really the only guy ever who could do better. But Mullen is exceptional.

That is what I was wondering, y’all just want to be relevant again like with Mullen. I think Leach can do that for y’all.
