see, you are just proving your ignorance

there is no excuse for not winning the title in 2006, and not winning EVERY game in 07 by at least 10 points

and YOU are just proving that there is no satisfying some "fans". One championship wasn't enough...there should have been two. If we would have had two, you would have said there should have been three. It wasn't enough to win...it should have been by 10 points.

Kige Ramsey could have coached LSU to 9 wins this year if he only had his Coaching for Dummies book to guide him

"He recruits well, usually hires good coaches, and game plans well. but game-day management is not great."

In looking for a coach, you want:

1. Recruiting
2. Hires good assistants
3. Game plan preparation
4. Game day management
5. Handles the public and media well.

Miles hits five stars on 1, 2 (maybe 4), 3. and 5. The game day management has been more of a problem because of his 2005 time out in the Tennessee game. Other than that, he has done well. Especially, half time adjustments.

How many coaches are there that hit 5's on the above five?

This is a good trait. But when this desire causes you to become so focussed on the negative that you cannot enjoy the positive, cannot allow others to enjoy the positive and/or cannot objectively critique what you are witnessing, then that is a problem. You and several other posters seem to have reached that point. Please try to be a little less negative. for all of our sakes.

And no body wants you or anyone else to don P&G glasses. But you can abstain from all the COLM hating on the day that others are getting what they hope to be good news of a DC hire.

It seems that you will not be happy untill CLM is gone. Well, that aint happening anytime soon so you should try to chill.

wait, wait wait

He is a five star on hiring assistants after just ruining an entire season by promoting two goons?

He is a five star on game plan preparation even though his team looks half asleep and fully retarded for the entire first half of virtually every game?

And he is a five star on PR and media relations despite being unable to speak?

well more than half the board dons the png glasses, and they usually come out of the woodworks when anyone comments negatively on miles. last time i checked this is a message board for discussion on our coaches, and i feel ours have underachieved lately

So,if LSU wins the National Title in 2009 or 2010,Miles will still suck because he didn't play Keiland Williams more in 2008 or gave the ball to Hester too much in the '06 Auburn game ?

Great.

have you not understood that miles is not going to win titles based off his coaching

he wins by having superior talent, and having good coordinators (see 07, not 08)

kudos to him for making good hires, but he still lacks in good game management

Yeah because anyone could have won a NC with the talent he had. That could've been achieved with any old ragged coach.

Chavis is not the best choice available. Not a bad choice, just not the best available.

Leaving a lot on the table by not bucking up to get Walker.

How would a clueless ranter like you know how to judge good game management?

Please name all the great college coaches known for their game management.

Every coach has dumb arse calls! Saban had plenty! Hell Saban is known for losing to teams like U a B...ULM. Miles almost had one of those but LSU pulled it out. Every coach has flaws put your bein a complete homer by only lookin at negatives. Chill out a lil bit

Agree 100%. I seem to remember that Saban went for it on 4th down from our own 30 or something in the SECCG against Tennessee, and we got stopped. But we ended up winning that game, so no one bitched about it. Even the great Saban has made some bone-headed in-game calls.
