With the Sean Lewis hire and now Mike Zimmer who wasn’t a terrible NFL head coach lined up to go to Colorado.

I can’t think of someone who would hate recruiting more than Mike Zimmer

That’s ok. He’s got several guys who really aren’t good at anything but recruiting

I’m sure he’d only have to recruit on campus if this came to fruition.

Zimmer has been through some awfulness. Lost his wife in 2009 and his son earlier this year

Oh I know. But Zimmer is the definition of cranky old coach. No way he lasts long dealing with young players.

Given the recent death of his son, maybe this could be an outlet for him.

He was at Jackson State with prime. So he’s already been dealing with young players

Zimmer wouldn’t have to recruit. He would just have to call the defense. Would be a great hire.

That’s a lot of big names but also big egos in one room. Not saying Sanders can’t pull it off but it’s still going to take a few years to get it going

Zimmer wasn’t physically in Jackson. He sat on his couch in Minnesota (or wherever he’s living), watched some film, and provided feedback from time to time.

Remember when Lane Kiffin had to fire his own NFL defensive legend dad as his DC?

College offenses are different than the pro game. College offensive run the qb. Pro defensive coordinators don’t know how to account for that.

If I`m the Saints I would hire Zimmer yesterday as HC.

Plus Mike Zimmer's nephew was an analyst at JSU too. He used to play RB or TE at Kansas a few years back.
