When is the last time moo state won the sec? OSU has been two civil war games away from winning the pac ten in a row and did share the pac ten title in 2000 when Udub, osu, and oregon all finished in the top ten. They also have a bcs win under their belts......now tell me how they are the moo state of the pac ten?

This is the only thing you stated that is correct. Mike Riley is a damn good coach.

I have no idea where SC goes from here. Apparently Kyle Whittingham has shown interest, which would be a nice hire. Basically Urban Lite. JDR is obviously on the list and Herm Edwards is as well.

If there are no sanctions coming, he should jump. I think he is a great coach and will keep it going at SC unfortunately. I think at this stage SC would be lucky to have him.

btw....sorry about Riley but it needed to go that way. You will get a good coach, if Riley would have left it would have made the conference weaker. The only coaches I see who believe that is a good top job are the ones who are already there.

I did not think he would go, but I am very happy to see him stay.

USC will find somebody with a big name, Riley is a good coach, but he is not LA style. He would not like all of the star hanger-ons around the USC program.

exactly, Riley leaving OSU would have only hurt the pac ten. One school would continue their ways while another one would falter. This way they will both stay where they are at..........unless the hammer is coming down!!!

btw.....very happy for you and the state of Oregon. Even the platypuses are happy!

OSU is a much better program than Mississippi State in almost every possible manner

Mike Riley is a great coach and it honestly made no sense for him to leave OSU. Put it like this, Les is getting crucified for going 9-4 at LSU while Riley is getting praised for doing the same thing there. What is success at OSU is defined down – for big time college football, there is not much pressure there. He’s got one of the best jobs in football.

But I think USC is going to have a more difficult time finding a coach than they thought. The spectre of probation is just too great. Who wants to follow a guy as successful as Carroll while also dealing with the probation mess? I think that’s why they are going after Herm Edwards.

He has no pressure because he is the reason there is a program at OSU. He is OSU football!! He also doesn't have the type of recruits that LSU has or he would start facing some pressure. He also hasn't won a title or following a coach who did win one. OSU is happy with the success he has brought but they are trying to to build on it. I guarantee you whoever follows Riley will have pressure on him.
