I would be much happier with MacIntyre as HC instead of Luke. The Administration's plan is to surround him by folks that know what the hell they are doing, which begs the question - why bother to keep Luke around? He's not a great recruiter and isn't known as an offensive/defensive genius. Seems dumb to pay millions for a cheerleader just out of pure stubbornness.

MacIntyre isn't the one that beat on a woman - unlike that POS Simmons.

He had one good year at Co. He failed to recruit defensive players. Had zero depth. I believe he was going to get fired a few years ago and pulled a rabbit out of his hat.

ETA:

If you remove his best and worst year, he averaged 4.5 wins at Co.

It was a tough job to inherit. Colorado had gone bowling just one time with a 6-7 record in the previous 7 seasons. The two seasons prior to Mac being hired, they won 4 total games, including 1-11 the year before he was hired. His 2016 season earned him AP Coach of the Year.

What killed him was he went 0-9 his last 2 seasons with bowl eligibility on the line. Of course, losing your starting QB is tough, but losing to Oregon State is pretty inexcusable. He did some absolute miracle work at San Jose State as they had the nation's longest losing streak when he got there and he had them at 10-2 in year 3. Luckily he only has to coach one of half of the team, and it's a half he's had a lot of success with.

He spent 3 years coaching DBs in NFL under Bill Parcells before taking the Duke DC job. His defenses at Duke improved each year he was there, and he was awarded the AFCA FBS Assistant of the Year in his last year there, 2009.

Truthfully, he has a great resume and Ole Miss probably only has him for one year before he's a HC somewhere else.

• A week after Jane informed MacIntyre of Tumpkin’s pattern of physical abuse—which MacIntyre said included “grab[bing] her by her hair and throw[ing] her around”—MacIntyre, George, and DiStefano agreed to make Tumpkin the defensive playcaller in the Buffs’ Dec. 29 Alamo Bowl game versus Oklahoma State. (Defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt had left CU days earlier to take the same job at Oregon.)

Yeah, that'll do it.

Hopefully he learns not to be such a TPOS in the future and holds his staff accountable. You're not going to get away with having a wife-beater / alleged wife-beater on staff in 2019.

This is good news for OU on the Pete Golding front.
