But why would he want the OSU job over the Florida job? I would think coaching in the SEC and winning a couple BCSNCs has to be pretty close the pinnacle of college coaching.

From what I've read, tOSU, PSU and ND are all his dream jobs. Supposedly told his wife she had veto power over any job he took, except those 3 schools.

I listened to Herbstreit's radio show Monday and he said the whole "dream job" with Notre Dame was false and that only Ohio State was his dream job. So basically meyer to Ohio state is the worst kept secret in sports.

Colin Cowherd pretty much let it slip multiple times. While he isn't the authority on coaching changes, they do work at the same place so I'm sure he would know before most.

$100 says in his tenure they never win a NC over a SEC school, so in the end who really cares

That's a good question.

I doubt we see a buyout clause in his Ohio State contract to give him an out to go to Notre Dame. Not a lot of love between those two schools.

He's going to fit right in at OSU if this is true. One coach with no integrity is replaced with another.

despite what he said years ago, ND offered meyer and he turned them down; he could have had the job if he wanted it.

im sure he recognizes that OSU is a much better job anyways for a variety of reasons.

this is almost like a Saban situation minus the rivalry.
This is nothing like the Saban situation. He left for an NFL job and came back. Meyer quit on his team twice, said he needed to off for family/health, came back after a year.

The latest...Urban is meeting with Gee, Smith and the board of trustees in Atlanta this morning. It's confirmed that he's retaining Stan Drayton and bringing in Mariotti from Fla. Wants to keep Fickell on staff as asst HC as reported and wants Durkin from Fla and Studwara from LSU if he can.
