My bet is this is our guy. He is rock solid. Go and listen to his youtube videos after games and other interviews. He has impeccable morals, talks like Saban regarding his approach to coaching and "the process", and has overachieved at Iowa State. He would bring a refreshing credibility and stability to our program.

I read why you like him, but what makes you want to bet it’s him?

Shhh.. the Napier Klan will come and get you.. even though Campbell accomplished what Napier did when he was only 32 at a worse school.

my bet is based on a few obserations:
1) Riley and Jimbo are happy where they are. THey have no reason to leave. Jimbo left FSU because he had reasons to leave secondary to lack of support. TAMU is very supportive of him, so why would he leave. TAMU will match any salary +/-. Riley is happy where he is, and OU supports him. He will also get SEC money soon.
2) Aranda is good, but not enough experience as head coach. Also, i sense that administration wants someone more outgoing and vocal.
3) Character flaws rule out several others including Meyer and Kiffin.
4) Napier is good, but I cant see a jump from ULL to LSU. Simply put, he's too big a risk.

This leaves Campbell. No blemishes. Solid character. Overachieving at a Big 12 school. Process oriented. Will stabilize our program (think Title IX, recruiting violations, etc.).

I think the way you do. It could be someone other than Campbell, but Campbell checks every box and fits the timeline. He's someone that would have agreed weeks ago, and would wait for the job even if he's not the #1 guy.

He seems like he’ll struggle to recruit down here. This isn’t the Midwest

Matt Campbell currently has the 23rd ranked class at Iowa State..

That’s 10 spots higher than Aranda at Baylor.

Little more talent in Texas, over Baylor.

Campbell’s current class includes 8 players from Texas, Florida and Georgia.

Napier stans: omg what Napier has done at ULL is amazing
Also Napier Stans: Matt Campbell is horrible, he hasn’t even won the big 12.

Sooo one guy is this can’t miss coach that LSU will rue the day they passed on but the other guy who’s had NFL job offers is terrible.

Been trying to tell these Campbell idiots this for days, but they won't hear of it. They think Iowa State is the worst place on Earth and could never ever never never ever have talented players. They claim Campbell is among the best coaches in the nation. I say he's average at best.

The only reason you think Campbell shouldn’t lose those games is because you changed your mind about ISU because of Campbell.

Gene Chizik went 3-10 at ISU and they gave him the Auburn job.

ISU is historically terrible.

What Campbell has done is as impressive as it gets.

Do you have a crystal ball, because Campbell has taken Iowa State from the abyss to a national conversation piece in a relatively short period of time. Campbell must be doing something right recruiting wise.

People forget the LSU version of Saban also had his share of these types of games.

Makes no sense if Woody is down to this tier of coach to not hire Aranda.

Campbell is a bigger risk than Napier.
1. Midwest guy with no ties to south.
2. Napier beat ISU last year on road.
