We need a OC with a focus on QB development! This guy is the man! Look at his track record, we could probably pay him 2-3 times his current salary...

We won't get Whipple but we need a man of the same mold. We need a guy with his type of credentials who aint afraid to tell it like it is.

A rumor is spreading... I was asked if I had heard about this today. He would be a great hire.

I'd love to have Mark Whipple here. He has done a really nice job at Miami this year and helping train and bring along their QB. He feels a game really well and really calls great plays at the right time. LSU could do a lot worse than Whipple. I would take him if we couldn't get someone as good as Holgerson, Boise St OC, Cincinatti OC, etc.

What makes anyone think he is leaving or would leave Miami for LSU? Is this just a wish or is something going on that he is considering LSU.

Two major reasons:
- Chance to win a ring is still not available in the near future at Miami.
- We have a deeper pocketbook, Miami has been historically stingy.

But other than speculation that we would pay more and that he would accept it there is nothing that indicates that LSU has even talked to him or that he is even interested right? He is Bill Cowher guy and he will go wherever Cowher goes. Maybe ND?

Better chance to do so at Miami:
1) ACC is shite
2) Miami has a young team. They'll get better.

Which kills your computer score. The ACC sent a team to the BCSCG 8 years ago........

The ACC is so bad that even if you go undefeated you will be ranked behind an undefeated SEC, Big XII, or PAC-10 team...

They are young and will get better I agree but they have a ceiling with their current facilities and are on par with USF currently...

this is spot on. with the mediocre talent we bring in at the QB position we need someone who can take raw athletic ability and produce a 1st-3rd round NFL caliber player.

The ACC VS SEC is mute for this discussion. That won't make any difference where he goes if he goes anywhere. But to the question above. Is there any reason to believe that LSU has even targeted him or talked to him or is even considering him?

Appreciate the effort of finding a viable candidate, few on this board have done that

Really not even sure if he is a viable candidate...

BelowPar (or anyone else who actually knows anything), if you are out there please comment...

If I were Miles or Alleva he would be my #1 target.
