ou will have O, Frank and Corey handling the recruiting.

Lane can Facetime at any point.

As long as he has been around football he already has a staff set, that’s no problem
. Are you dumb?

Don't you think there might be a conflict of interest?

This is for both teams.

You don't think they would want their coach in place to handle it on their end?

And what? Promote Frank? He's LSUs coach and just wants to finish what he started at Ole Miss. He's a top 5-10 coach in cfb. You cant abandon ship now.

Brilliant eloquence. Indicative of the cuckolds who will take LK at any price without regard to the impact on LSU. Absolute pansies.

I just hope we have something signed. If we have something signed, I’m fine with him coaching in the playoffs

If he puts ink to paper to officially be LSU's coach then his duties at Ole Miss are finished. My biggest worry about him coaching the playoffs is that almost certainly means he hasn't actually signed anything, we'd just have a verbal commitment essentially. Verge did say he was willing to wait, and honestly if so that actually is a pretty big risk to take. I agree with what OP is saying as far as this aspect goes, the only way we see Lane coaching in the playoffs is if he's not legally bound to LSU yet.

If Kiffin continues to coach into/through the playoffs, how does that affect OM coaching search. Does anyone believe that OM could sign a Head Coach and ask him to stay away from the program while Kiffin continues to coach them? How would that affect their ability to recruit or with the NIL, are they just not going to recruit anymore? So many questions.

he wont be able to focus on recruiting for LSU, portal management for LSU, interviewing and building a staff for LSU, familiarizing himself with LSU's pipeline, building relationships with existing LSU players, transitioning to LSU, and prioritizing LSU generally.

one more cycle of the "Brian Kelly method" really isn't going to make a shite ton of difference, in the grand scheme of it... having the knowledge of which coach is coming (a guy that has likely recruited them already anyway, as Ole Miss and LSU have a lot of overlap recruiting the same places in the South), having the support staff still here in Frank and Corey to do the majority of the heavy lifting for the time being, and the possibility of him talking OM players into coming after the season too, that all helps us...

Worse, there is really no way to legally bind him to a tenuous promise to join LSU at some point in the future unless Ole Miss consents. He could change his mind, which would lead to a pall of uncertainty hanging over the program for the next month.

if you don't think that LSU would have something legally binding, ensuring he can't back out, then you are the naive one... plus, why would OM want to keep him around, after it's been announced he is leaving, anyway? they'd be looking to turn the page as quickly as possilble, as well...

Many of you sound desperate, frankly, ready to take Kiffin at any price on any conditions

we are ready to have a dominate football program again.... Kiffin gives us a pretty good chance at that...

Hopefully our AD is somewhat more rational.

i'm praying his thinking is not as antiquated as yours appears to be

People like this woman (DmitriKaramazov) are the actual problem at LSU. They will always want LSU to fail.

So you’re willing to give up the next 5-10 years for 1 season? Thats fricking stupid. This is a long term plan. Who fricking cares about next year? You’re going for the guy because you believe he can create a dynasty at LSU. Next season is irrelevant in regards to that

He will have a GM and support staff in place to handle a lot of this and would be in communication with them.

I would love for you to explain how Kiffin could be under contract with two schools simultaneously and recruit for LSU while on Ole Miss staff. Again, all of this without ole miss consent. I'll await your illuminating jurisprudential analysis.

Coaches have taken other jobs & coaches bowl games dozens to hundreds of times throughout CFB history. You put a notice in & you sign a contract with LSU stating you are to become their coach the second Ole Miss’s season ends. It’s not that hard. Quit being a fricking idiot

Well you were willing to trash CBK for one season. And the negative impact on future 5* recruits from LSU's lousy season next will haunt the program. You sound so desperate and needy. God, you people.

That is not remotely how this works under the law. Not remotely. Those are instances where the school which the candidate is leaving CONSENTS to the arrangement. Ole Miss is apparently not willing to do that.

Moreover, those instances occurred BEFORE CFB changed its recruiting and portal deadlines, which also changes the calculus.

He wouldn’t waver any longer on his decision whether to leave to go to LSU at that point because staying at or going back to OM would no longer be options for him. I’m pretty sure Ole Miss will immediately move on into their own coaching change process full steam the moment Kiffen were to say “I’ve decided to move along to LSU.”

Exactly!

These people just want their predictions to be right and to go on Ole Miss' message board and make a fool out of themselves.

Who's the idiot, Sleeping Beauty? You just come out of a coma? It's a different world in CFB now with the portal and NIL deadlines. My goodness get real.
