You honestly think Texas doesn't have talent? There is no rebuilding necessary. They'll be a contender within a year or 2 with the right staff.

He has to rebuild UT. They won't get there in the first season. Look at his first season anywhere else.
Well, Texas' last few classes have been ranked #3, #2, #24 and they'll be in the top 10 this year. It wouldn't be a tough rebuild.

Alabama, on the other hand, is probably the most stacked college football program in history right now, in terms of talent.
Jesus.

Pretty sure Alabama would get him there faster.
To 15-0?

Sure they have talent. Not like Alabama or LSU though. And there's clearly an attitude of mediocrity. I see no reason to think they would immediately dominate based on Saban's past rebuilding efforts and their talent

Brett McMurphy on ESPN just said Mack is expected to step down and that Saban is Texas's first choice but sources close to Saban tell him he is staying at Alabama and that his new contract is being finalized this weekend.

My best friend since 7th grade (Jesus fricking Christ that was a long time ago ), the guy I tailgate with and go to games with, is in a position at his job that puts him in a room with very wealthy and powerful people almost daily, like Fortune 500 CEO/CFO/etc type people. He and one of the afore mentioned guys talks Alabama football basically every time they are in a room together and he has personal ties to a member of the BoT at UA.
I trust my friend literally with anything that he says and he tells me that this guy has never told him anything wrong in all the years he has been chatting with him.
Take that for what it's worth. I'm no insider but I trust what this guy tells me
So in other words, you don't know shite either.

Yeah huh bro! His butt-buddy from 7th grade shoots the shite with Donald Trump and he swears Saban is taking another pay cut to stay at bama

An employee trying to get the highest salary possible for doing his job is not extortion. But you already know that.

They have the talent to compete in their conference
Hence why they went to the championship game

Me personally? No, I haven't seen contract papers change hands. I do trust what I have been told based on who told me.
