SC should win easy. Fedora has not left a very good roster

As one of the very few Tar Heel alums who cares about football more than basketball, I’m pretty bummed out about this hire.

Mack’s first game as UNC Head Coach was a loss against the Gamecocks, looks like history will repeat itself.

I'd rather go with a young, hungry upstart over a retread like Mack. He recruited well at a top 10 program within a state loaded with talent. UNC is unlikely to ever have a talent edge, I'd rather the guy that at least gives me the coaching edge.

Actually, our offense looks to be pretty talented next year. Defense is admittedly

It’ll be easier for Mack Brown to be successful at UNC than for Miles at Kansas. UNC has good talent in the area and at least some history of being able to win. Kansas has nothing.

The big UNC donors wanted Mack and put up the money to buy out Fedora. AD did not want to go the coordinator/G5 route as “too risky.” Fedora was hired from So Miss.

Mack will hire great coaches and be a successful CEO coach during his term. He’ll leave the program in great shape for his successor - likely a coach on the staff he chooses.

Satterfield may take the OC job with the promise of the HC position after he spends a few years learning to be a P5 head coach.
