Eh, depends on the expectations. A bowl game every few years at Kansas gets you a lifetime gig. A bowl game every few years at UNC will get you canned. Look at David Cutcliffe at Duke. Low pressure job.

Agree. I’d rather be in Les’s shoes than Brown’s, and I say that as someone who always thought the hate on Brown was overblown. He had lost the championship contender status but he wasn’t awful by any stretch.

Kansas will build a statue if he gets 6 wins a year

There’s amazingly only a 2 year age gap between the two.

Mack seems like he’s 90

Les is going to elevate Kansas and be a friggin hero there.

He'll have a statue there before it's all said and done. Once they get used to the Les-isms, they'll love him.

Mack Brown also has a significant coaching history at UNC.

I think they both are low pressure.

Neither fan base fives a frick about football.

Sure UNC wants to go to Bowl games, but having 3 and 2 wins in back to back seasons will get you canned.

I think if he kept up with 7 and 8 win seasons, Fedora wouldn't have gotten canned.

Also, Chapel Hill > Lawrence

somewhat related... I was looking at UNC's season stats today and...

Mannie Miles is a QB there and threw a TD?!!?#@#!?! who knew? (I kinda vaguely remember him going there, then I saw Ben Miles on aTm sideline and kinda got em confused/ conflated into one Miles)

Yes, Manny threw a 40 yard Hail Mary TD pass to end the half against Western Carolina a few weeks ago

Les went to Kansas because of his relationship to the AD there. Obviously after dealing with that idiot Alleva he values a good rapport with the AD.

Yes, UNC knows Les. If they were interested, they knew where to find him.

It’s bc if there ever was a chance at dislodging Saban from Bama, it was to replace Brown at Texas but Brown refuses to step down. It was probably all just wishful thinking and was never going to happen anyway.
