if he leaves, his buyout is like $1M or nothing
Question: Anyone think we'd take a bit of a regression replacing Les? Like another 8-5 or 9-4 season before we would get back to 10-2 or better consistently?

he has his ring, he made his name, he is a national figure, he handled the herbstreit/espn fiasco as a total professional, he is one of their guys and RR would be easy for LM to replace
I really can see this happening

depends on who we get
i think guys who have made their mark building 1 program would take time, and they often fail
you can't just replicate what you had
rich rod, spurrier, etc fall into this category
thats patterson
the guys to target are ones who have ascended up the ranks, improving each place they've been as they go, and often the program keeps humming after they leave
urban did this
kelly is doing this
harbaugh is doing this

Serious sources are saying that Gary Patterson would be the front Runner for ND. The powers that be at ND believe firmly that to get back to national respectablility and compete for BCS games, the quickest way to get there is building a dominant defense. Patterson is the guy.
this will happen very very quickly and it won't be done with all the public fanfare that the Weiss hire happened in.
As for Michigan, I am certain that Brian Kelly will be their first target. NO legs to Miles or Harbaugh.

You guys need to stop trying to pawn your shitty coach off on the Big10 imo.
Posted on 11/19/09 at 10:49 am to SprintFun
or perhaps you can back to your shitty big ten team's message boards and don't worry about us

I know, and you'd think he just lost to Charlie Weis' FUPA reading the shite on here.

I'd be so pissed if I was sitting at 8-2 too, with those two losses to top 5 teams in the country.
What an a-hole.

quote:yeah, especially if we had any sort of offense we'd be sitting at 10-0 and the #1 team in the nation. but miles it "content" with how Crowton is calling the offense and handling the development if JJ.

Tuberville is a joke. Why do you continue to pimp him? LSU fans would have ran him out of town on a rail for the record he had at Auburn, not to mention the shitty recruiting.
And don't give me the "but that was at Auburn." He had a crappy Alabama and LSU for much of his career. I've never been impressed.

Rich Rodriguez's agent says Mary Sue Coleman behind Michigan coach '100%'
BY MARK SNYDER
According to Rich Rodriguez's agent, U-M president Mary Sue Coleman supports Rodriguez "100%."
Mike Brown told the Free Press today that the pair met on Monday -- he said he wasn't sure what the meeting was about or how it arose -- and that's what she told Rodriguez
She said, hey I'm behind you 100%," Brown said. "I know for a fact from day one she's been behind him 100%."
Brown speaks to Rodriguez and his wife, Rita, regularly and said they love Ann Arbor and see themselves there for years. He pays no attention to any speculation about Rodriguez's job status.
"He's got long-range plans," Brown said. "He's going to be the coach next year and for many years to come. Once he gets everything in place the program will be where he wants it to be. He has no plans of being anywhere but Ann Arbor."
Brown later clarified by e-mail that the Monday conversation between Rodriguez and Coleman, which was about the missing practice logs, may have occurred over the phone.

Sorry, there is a poster that continually pimps him. I thought it was you. My bad.
I still don't get the infatuation with him. Very Mediocre.
