ESPN's Wilbon: Rich Rod on his way out at UM
Rich Rodriguez's days may be numbered as the Michigan football coach, at least according to ESPN's Michael Wilbon.
Monday on Tony Kornheiser's radio show, Wilbon said Rodriguez and Notre Dame's Charlie Weis are finished at the end of this season.
"I had a solo conversation with someone who is affiliated with the current coach at Michigan, and he does not believe for a second that he'll be back," Wilbon said.
Kornheiser said surely Rodriguez would return for another year, but Wilbon was steadfast.
"I was stunned by this conversation, which was Saturday, an hour-and-a-half after that [Wisconsin] game," Wilbon said. "And he says that he would bet me right now - took his wallet out and threw it down - that this is not going to happen.
"I'll just tell you, this guy played for Rich Rod."

Les' buyout is 1.25M (to go to Michigan--he can leave to go anywhere else and not have to pay). LSU's buyout is like 15M.

I agree 100%
and the Harbaugh to UM talk seems off to me. UM is going to pay 4mm to fire RR so they need a serious name to justify that kind of money. Harbaugh graduated from Palo Alto High and he has long said that he doesn't want his kids to miss out on their father like he did with his dad. Plus he made about 20mm when he was in the NFL so he doesn't need Michigan's money. So why go to UM and that mess when he has a nice thing going at Stanford?

All bullshite aside, he really is. He is a perfect fit for the style of play up there, i think he would do a great job and all he has to compete with is OSU for the Big 10

yeah if we fire les we're responsible for the money/years left on his deal
if he leaves, his buyout is like $1M or nothing

Les has a want to go up there and be competitive

in a perfect world, richard gill would be risen from the dead to help pay that michigan buyout

another thing to consider with LM is his wife and kids. His kids aren't little any more and it seems a move would be much easier on them now than it would have been in 2007
I can honestly see this happening now. In 2007 no way because of the SECG and BCSNG but now? sure, why not?
