I think Golden is solid, especially as a recruiter. The guy was already starting to pull interest from top Louisiana recruits.

so Golden is Saban now???

YOU claimed that he could not recruit nationally because he came from the schools you noted.

Stop being a baby. Golden is a quality coach and likely a god hire...IF he indeed goes to UT.

And, who the frick was Saban before he got to LSU? He was pretty unproven...no?

In short, Golden's not planning to run anywhere.

Dark days are almost certainly coming to Miami, with the NCAA expected to send a notice of allegations to the school soon -- possibly in the next couple weeks. If that timetable holds up, sanctions could come around March. But Golden believes the worst has already happened, with Miami self-imposing two bowl bans and with him planning to hold back some scholarships that could go toward signing more players this winter.

That all being said, many around Miami's program believe the next couple seasons could be great ones. That's also why they think Golden is staying put.

He raves about living in South Florida, both life in Miami and the ability to jump in the car and be in gorgeous places like the Florida Keys, Naples and Palm Beach within an hour or so. His wife and children are happy calling the area home. He's under contract until Feb. 1, 2020.

Not Leaving Miami. Maybe.

A struggling Big 10 coach who
- never won a bowl game
- never won a conference championship
- Had only one season with a record better than 7-5.

I disagree... I think if he stays we are turning the program around... Shannon left us with nothing..

Well, I can't disagree with this either.

Potential sanctions coming down the pipe aren't going to help him but yeah, I'll back down and agree with you here.

Gotta agree. Miami is one of the best places to live in the U.S. In fact I prefer South Florida to anywhere in the U.S. and I could pretty much live in any city I choose (due to my career/job).

I would not take double my salary to move to knoxville from here. No way in hell.

haha yea.. I originally posted this as a joke. No way do i think Golden is actually leaving. He's got a pretty sweet gig down here. No Pressure, easy recruiting, and 20/22 starters coming back
