Well, LSU fans should be getting extremely worried because they flew to him. That should tell you they want him and they might leave with him as new DC.

Would be an awful hire and I agree with you coaches have told him thanks but no thanks. Probably because they know he's about to get fired and also likely is getting a bad reputation in coaching circles.

There was reports they talked to Schumann but I guess he told LSU he wasn't interested.

What a wonderful read this thread was. Beautiful melt, fellas.

My favorite comments are those saying "just give the job to Schumann"

As light as Daronte Jones' resume is, it fricking blows Glenn Schumann's out the water.

Their defense has been garbage the past couple years, so idk.

They were a top 10 defense in 2019

Losing Hunter hurt them a lot.

With O, nothing surprises me anymore.

This guy even getting an interview is laughable.

So the reason Freeman and Nielsen both couldn't take the job was Ed O's fault?

Moreover, were they both not worthy of the job?

Exactly, what's wrong with interviewing the guy? I mean, obviously you must be an expert on the dude. So explain what is exactly wrong with him?

What makes you believe you are smarter than Ed O? How long have you been a head coach and what is your won/loss record.

This is what you wind up with when you have a small pool to chose from.. a journey man coach.

Other than idiotic speculation, you don't have the first freaking clue. However, you do hate Ed O with a passion even though he won a natty with the greatest team in college football history in 2019. Some of you people are deranged.

I mean how many starters went to the NFL after 2019 and how many starters opted out? I know, I know, none of that matters when it comes to Ed O and Ed O alone.

Not at all.

However, it would be reassuring to know that O has more than 2 major targets before he supposedly goes to lesser known candidates, which is what it looks like he's doing.

Maybe he has more candidates but it seems like that he's focusing on lesser known guys.

It's been over a month since Pelini left. The candidates should've been lined up, at least on paper.

Now it seems like he's scrambling to find one. The hire is too important.

I'm pulling for O but I don't like how he's going to candidates that hardly anyone has heard of. He needs to nail this hire.

So he understands how to use a dominant front and has a great understanding of how the DBs play into it. Ontop of having the best DV coach in the country teaching the guys he’s putting in position. The more I read into this the more I like it.

It must be completely miserable being so caught up in someone's skin tone, that if effects your everyday life

Jones’ position group has left a lot to be desired over the last two seasons, as William Jackson has regressed mightily after having an elite 2017 season, while Dre Kirkpatrick continued to be the biggest enigma of the Bengals’ defense. Free agent acquisition B.W. Webb was also a major bust this season.

So the guy who wrote this review of Jones is the be all judge of Jones? Man if he said it that settles it for you? Sports writers are just freaking opinions. Bet there was the same shite written about Joe Burrow, Drew Brees and Tom Brady when they were in high school and college. Well we all know how that turned out.
