If Bama was a top 5 job why did you go through coaches like Tennessee pre saban? LSU also discovered Saban and you only lucked into him because he left the NFL because he failed.

Les Miles and Ed won national titles. No matter how they got in the position they took it to the pinnacle and most consider them average coaches soooooo…

Saban era has made bama top 5.

could argue that they were not before.

And the Les miles and Ed O eras made LSU a top 5 job as evidenced by really average guys winning titles while well respected tacticians never sniffed it.

All you have to do is google and there are multiple sites that list LSU as one of the top jobs in CFB. Hell, one writer had them listed as a top 10-15 job in all of football(NFL included). It’s not like posters on TD are writing the articles or talking about it on TV.

It isn't a top 5 job.

Albama, Florida, Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Michigan, Penn State, Southern Cal, Texas, Oklahoma etc

In recent years where would LSU rank with those other teams in...

Coaching salary
Football facilities
Recruiting class rankings
National championships
NFL draft picks

The landscape in college football is fluid. LSU is the top open job in the country today. Top 5 on most lists.

If you take Saban out of the equation, LSU is a better job than Bama. Louisiana has better in state talent per capita, no in state competition, and has won a title with it’s last 3 coaches in a row. Name another program in a better position to win big and as quickly as LSU could right now?

You're wrong. After Ed O won the Natty in 2019, a lot of teams would have given up their left nuts to have Orgeron. Of course, at the time, they had no idea that Oregon would soon totally lose his focus and his drive.

You are the typical Alabama fan. Your view of college football as a whole is strongly influenced by ancient history. Very few coaches care about that. That is why the last decade or two matter.

Sheesh as a bama fan you should be content with that.

Most sensitive snowflakes in CFB - bama fans.

LSU is a top 5 job when you look at things like recruiting, resources, facilities, university support, fan support, etc. Then when you start digging into areas like liveliness you end up realizing why many don't want to bring their families to Baton Rouge. It probably ends up docking us down the list for coaches when they have to live in SE Louisiana.

So, as a whole, objectively, LSU is not a top 5 job. Whether you want to admit it or not things like alumni support and liveliness is part of the equation both of which LSU is very weak in. You could also argue facility wise we're starting to fall behind many schools in our own conference. Another argument I could see is our titan fan support has crumbled the past decade and I don't think this is debatable at this point. So what this comes down to is coaches preferences when looking at a school. I think there's several schools you can look at objectively that are unquestionable top 5 blue bloods of the NCAA. LSU is not even a blue blood.

Yeah, liveliness describes the opposite of Baton Rouge Louisiana when you rank near the bottom in the country in many categories and has an insane crime rate that continues to grow with more poverty stricken areas. Those few nice neighborhoods in BR are getting gobbled up with a wall of ghetto around them.

Having 2 non-HCs win NCs reveals that LSU is very good real estate to reach the top of the mountain. It can be sustained success with a legitimate HC or occasionally with position coaches in charge.

Ok Douche985

Liveliness is a spirited or energetic quality. The liveliness of a kindergarten class might be a little overwhelming to a brand-new teacher.

Anyone or anything with liveliness is full of excitement, activity and energy. If you're in search of liveliness on a Friday night, you're more likely to find it at a party or a rock concert than at a sad movie or a solemn poetry reading. We can trace the noun liveliness back to the word life. So if you meet someone who's full of life, its their liveliness that you're noticing.

Because those guys no one rates as good coaches BOTH won national championships. The thought is “if they can do it there, I certainly can!”

If LSU is a top 5 job then why have they had to settle for orgeron and miles, people that nobody else would even want or touch.

Let me guess…you’re a child? Started watching football in about 2012? Nobody was beating down the door for O, which is why we got him for a steal and he still brought a NC and the best college football season in history to LSU. Miles was a well known name and could have gone many places. It’s why Michigan tried to get him from LSU. I would say you’re a dumbass, but knowing that you’re probably like 16 makes me think twice. You’re supposed to be stupid.
