Next coach is going to have to truly rebuild the program. You have a lot of headwinds. Orgeron and his debris, transfer portal madness currently and a general lack of talent and depth at OLine and RB. Whomever comes in it will be an uphill climb. You basically had the inmates running the asylum since last summer(2020). This hire, whomever he is will not be a plug in an....voila we are back to being a perennial top 10 team again. I think the new coach will need 4 years at a minimum so I don't think guys like Riley....or even a Ryan Day type who inherited positions can effect a rebuild like LSU is going to need.

You'll need a hardassed defensive coach. You need a Saban or Smart someone who can withstand the outside pressures as well as the internal ones. Because with our fan base, the most unrealistic and ungrateful in CFB IMO, everytime we punt there will be grumbling, much less a close game or a loss.
