Two concerns with Briles: one is the obvious(not sure if moms are going to endorse Briles on the recruiting trail...Secondly, Briles' offense isn't a Defense friendly style...Aranda will have a fit and potentially bolt after next year. Applewhite first and petulant Kiffen second

I don't want to even entertain the idea of hiring Art Briles. We are better than this.

Think Houston should take a chance on Art Briles?

I'm sure they'd love that one

Are we crediting Houston's success to Applewhite? Just looking at games and it's pretty much what Herman ran in OSU. Applewhite didn't run this at Texas.

Scoring as quickly as he does probably evens out with the number of three-and-outs put up by the LSU offense under Cameron and Ensminger.

NFL

Then maybe back in college in a couple years after all those issues blow over.

Looks like the AD that was involved just got hired at Liberty

You do realize Briles first collegiate HC job, do you not?

i mean, from the list, only Kiffin really fits the 'defense friendly' bill

Orgeron isn't dumb enough to hire Briles. Briles would be after Orgeron's job from minute #1.

There is zero chance we touch Briles.

And even if we did we would just cover it up.

Yes, it was with Houston. My "take a chance" comment was about his baggage, not that Houston was unfamiliar with him.

Would this not be a demotion? You said he's a Head Coach. He's not taking a demotion. Too big of an ego. Yet, you think he takes a "consultant" position?

Maybe this is part of Alleva's masterful plan. Show the world how he'd promote Ogre from within when there are issues, then amass a tremendous stable of assistants (Aranda DC, Kiffin OC, Briles QB coach) and let them fight it out to become the next "interim" when Ogre is canned. We will have coordinators lining up.
