Yes, Alabama sure sidestepped a landline too when they hired a failed NFL coach who found out he sucked as an NFL coach

Great college coaches don’t necessarily make great nfl coaches.

He'll be back at a blue blood next year killing it for a few years until he gets sick again.

College coaches don’t necessarily translate well to the NFL and I think Urban is the latest example of that. Now, having said that, it’s not even been a full season. Jacksonville was a loser before he got there.

I don’t think the OP is referring to his lack of success. I think the OP is referring to Meyers’s continuation of scumbag behavior.

Depends on the coach. Guys with Urbans skill set - great recruiter, motivator, no longer a big x and O guy…have the wrong skills for the job.

Same thing happened with Saban…good defense coach Obviously but his biggest skill is recruiting. That’s what he does better than anyone in history. Defensively he is not out in front of the rest of the NFL and the NFL puts his greatest skill on the shelf.

I don't think Saban called all his assistant coaches "losers" like Urb did.

Urban would have been a worse hire than Kiffin.

I was in that number. Dude could build a dynasty here, but I'm pleased with the Kelly hire.

I'd still take stinky pinky over any coach in NCAA except Saban.

He wants to get fired do the owner still has to pay him like Dan Snyder still paid Spurrier after firing him. Charlie Weis perfected the get fired and collect system.

Saban didn’t skip a team flight home after a loss to go drinking with his friends. He didn’t get caught sticking his thumb in a 20 years old arse. He didn’t call all his coaches losers or start fights with his best players. The OP wasn’t comparing their on field results.

He only has a few more vital organs to blame his exit on.

If the players don't like the coach. They should let the over paid players coach the team.

I don't know what Jacksonville has to do with college football. Nothing that's gone on there erases his CFB resume.
