This is so stupid. If everyone agreed to this and Lane makes it to the semifinals and loses or even lose the championship game, then what?

What if he changes his mind completely after that. And its not likely at all, but what if he even somehow wins a championship this year? You think he still comes to LSU? Dumb.

I was referring to the context of getting him under contract. If he's not under contract at the end of this weekend, it's time to move on.

They would have to. You're LSU coach or you're Ole Miss coach. Not both.

This trope that keeps getting repeated is so fricking stupid. Dozens to hundreds of coaches have coached in bowl games in the past after they have accepted jobs at other schools.

As long as Kiffin announces and has a presser saying he’s coming, I’m fine with it.

If it’s a handshake deal with LSU and waiting to announce until after, frick that.

I can’t imagine OM allowing that. Or the NCAA committee for that matter. That is, in part, why Kiffin remains at OM. Path of least resistance as well.
And if I'm Ole Miss, you are our coach and sign the extension or thanks for all you have done. See you on the flip flop. Surely they have enough pride to have "their" coach coaching through the playoffs. I have never heard of such as you all propose.

You want Kifflin coaching Ole Miss on NSD instead of recruiting for LSU?

I completely agree. It would have to be a contract with a signature stating he becomes LSU’s head coach the second Ole Miss’s season ends

We already said we would allow it. We're not as short-sighted as some of the fans around here

If this is the only sticking point , allow him to do whatever he wants. As long as he is coaching LSU for 2026 and beyond.

What will it hurt overall? You get the man you went for and everyone is happy

You have no options when you can’t get into the playoffs.

If Lane wants to coach the playoffs and OM allows it, LSU really can't say no if he intends to sign with LSU.

Fine, put LSU in the playoffs and let lane coach. Easy peasy.

The committee won’t do it because they are fricking cowards!

If they want LSU’s coach in there swaying every non-senior to join him in Baton Rouge in the fall…by all means

NC game is Jan 19. You want him coaching two teams that long?
