Does Michigan need Alleva's blessing to talk to Miles? His agent?

idk it just seems like the AD would need to be a part of the discussion

or Miles would have the class to let Joe that he was being talked to by Michigan

i would think that Michigan would need permission to talk to Les Miles since he is still under contract with the university.

Seems like an awful lot of people are voluntarily denying being contacted by Michigan.

Dave Brandon is an idiot for not going after Miles. I know a former asst coach at Michigan and he says bad blood between Miles and Brandon.

Maybe it is true.

Godd for recruiting if Miles stays but needs a OC.

Just ask Okie State how much class had when he was talking to LSU during their bowl week...and denied it...and left LSU w/o talking to his team first...real class act Miles is...

Same guy (Scott Cody) tweeted this yesterday:

quote:

Les Miles' agent, George Bass, today wouldn't answer any questions about Miles, Michigan or learjets in BR... "You will have to ask coach"

Meanwhile, Michigan AD is on the Domino's plane en route to Dallas' Love Field. Guess who is in Dallas? Miles' agent and Gary Patterson's agent -- George Bass.

There is nothing written in stone about this, but in general its how it works. Its more a respect thing there are no rules against it at the college level like in the NFL. On top of that I doubt serious that Miles would speak to anyone from Michigan without letting the AD know. But you can bet your arse that someone from Michigan, even if its a 3rd party has approached his agent by this time to see if he would be willing to listen.

From the Advocate:

quote:

LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva made the following statement regarding head football coach Les Miles today as the Tigers returned from its 41-24 win over Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl:

“I have not been contacted by anyone from the University of Michigan about Les Miles. Les Miles is LSU’s head coach and we are going to do everything we can to keep it that way. He has had great success here and we plan to keep enjoying that success under his leadership.”

No UM feels they do not have to disrupt their wine and cheese party to talk to us

Also they reached Miles agent not LSU
