Damn. Maybe we were just too poor to pull him too. You should follow up with your booster sources and see. The word is he’s lined up a big NIL deal for Connor W as revenge since we’ve effectively pushed him off the roster with our OC hire

Out of the box hire by Elko
Not as flashy as who Stoops was gonna bring according to Aggie folks but a solid hire
Will be interesting to see how much he adapts his style as I seem to recall they do a lot of qb runs which doesn’t seem like a strength of Wiegeman. Not that he’s immobile but with arm talent like that I don’t think you’re gonna see him look to run a lot. Just wouldn’t be smart

Not saying atm was too poor but he wasn’t getting the money he thought he’d get
lol at the OC hire pushing Connor off the roster. Nobody said that
Just interesting that people are suggesting he’s bringing a transfer qb
Personally I don’t think he would do that but we will see. Either way it’s a solid hire
Not as good as Kingsbury who was said to be locked up by Stoops but a solid hire

No I’m saying that Traylor was very much in the mix for HC but apparently shot himself in the foot.
Shane is salty bc the whole thing hasn’t gone as they’d hoped.

Overall I am a fan of our staff so far. I liked Elko from the beginning and have since his first season at Duke. I enjoy seeing mouth breathers like yourself pretend like you know something on a message board to look cool then it turns out you don’t know shite

You don’t sound happy lol
Your own folks have said Traylor shot himself in the foot.
I hope you find happiness Shane. I know 84 years is a long time and I’d be angry about that too

So he's an OC that has had a prebuilt OL and a long-term experienced QB that is power run based with the QB getting 10-15 runs a game and a preference to throw to the TE and FB over the WR...
16 of the starting 22 are upperclassmen with 4+ years of college experience. So any discussion about the Offense needs to really tempered with how much experience they had on O.
How in the world does that much up with A&M's current OL and QB and skill positions? How does that match up with the local talent pool?
Maybe I am just missing something here, but I am confused by the fit

Good points.
Kinda surprised Kingsbury fell through. Stoops had him locked up reportedly and he certainly runs a scheme that would’ve made more sense

That would have fit the existing talent more. By going Klein, then next year's ceiling to me will be more limited. It will take some serious time to replicate the talent distribution on O to match the style that he will try and install.

He might customize the playcalling to fit the talent and get the ball to whomever his studs are.

Whoa. A&M would have been VERY competitive with Kingsberry. Thank you sweet Jesus !!!!!!!!

When has he ever done that as an OC? He did not do it his year under the purple wizard. Then was demoted by Klineman back to QB coach, then his last 2 years the big change he made was go back to running the QB a ton that he did prior.
So how in the world do you believe that he will be adaptive on O given he has never done that before?
I live in the Midwest and have been to last years farmageddon. Ive seen KSU play probably a dozen times live or on tv with Klien as the OC. I am all about giving the dude the benefit of the doubt, but call it is what it is. He is a power run guy that will run the QB and limit the risk in the passing game. That is how he is wired and how he will build his O.
My biggest concern isn't the mesh with current talent (which is still a big deal) but how does this type of O work in the SEC not the B12. The talent and approach on D in the SEC seems to be tailor-made to counter this design.

Just bring in a more mobile QB & a couple other guys in the portal

Not arguing with you, but I’m saying that approach way the best approach at K State, which was ranked 13/14 teams in level of talent.
So I wouldn’t expect him to try to win games THERE doing anything differently.
He’s not a stubborn old fart who is set in his ways because he’s done it the same way forever.

As an LSU fan, don’t love it. Dude’s good and young and will only get better. Match him up with Elko and whoever he hires as DC, and that’s a nice coordinator group. Durkin was good, so that may be a wash, but they definitely upgraded at OC with Klein over Jimbo/Neck brace.
The SEC is about to be fricking retarded. The most money, the best players, the best coaches, the best facilities. It’s gonna wind up coming down to who hits on QBs most often. We’re about to have the 5th best team in the country have 2-3 losses some years. Bout to be wild.

Yea I know that would’ve been scary with Wiegman
I’d read that Stoops was likely to promote Robinson to dc and mentor him as well so it worked out well for us that it fell through
Apparently Stoops had a very nice staff shaping up to join him
